Porsches aren't and haven't ever been drag cars. They are purpose built road racers.

Sick of people man. Had a bad day I'm sorry for running my
Mouth. You've helped me
Out in more ways than 1 rap by answering my
Dumb question. But the dumbest question is the one that's never asked. I'd rather ask than screw something up.

To me my car is fast. Fastest thing I've ever been in by far. Except a guy I know has a 1000+hp corvette with dyno sheets to prove it. His don't count though😂

Nice! When I've got a good amount of mods out of the way and more $ I am going to start to do road racing at Sonoma and Laguna Seca.

Probably my favorite story he tells me is him in one of his earlier Porsches battling with a 66 gt350 they were neck and neck the entire race

At 70 years old I have slowed down some but when I was young and crazy. The dragster at bottom right was fast for its day but a slug now. 186 MPH and 8.50's.
It was a money pit and with wine women and song it only lasted a year [1968] with me.

Fastest Car?

That is a Funny to Explain question: Most people are concentrated on Number Horsepower or how fast they got their Speedometer up to. I've Experienced all of those in different Cars, but the car that got me "out of Florida" the quickest was a Mazda Maximum.

2013 Aston Martin Vanquish V12 - my buddy works for the dealership and snuck me in on their private track day for clients. Definitely a bucket list day - never thought I'd be driving a $300k car at 135+ on the straights. Paddle shifters, monster brakes, and electronic nannies made driving it pretty easy.
Funny thing is, as awesome as the day was, I enjoy tracking my brutish '13 GT just as much.

Those are some of the coolest pictures that I've seen in a long time!
Lol. It DOES seem kind of slow by todays standard. That must have been a real thrill, in 1968, to sit behind that Hemi, smoking the tires halfway down the strip. Hell, it would be a thrill for most of us NOWADAYS!!!

I'll bet that you wish that you still had all of those cars...

Thanks and yes but not being made of money I'm like most and just move on to the next car. My fastest Mustang would be my bought new 1969 428 Super Cobra Jet Mach 1 with Drag Pack. Stock I turned a 14.1. Half a year later and double the cost it was mid 10's. Not bad for 1969. Note the before and after picks.

2014 Corvette Stingray by far, got to drive that on a closed course in Vegas, made my v6 stang feel like a slow turd when I came home so now the procharger and some suspension mods is my new final goal for my car. (Originally was going to stop at basic bolt ons)

Well, fastest top speed would be my 2014 Mustang GT. It hits the speed limiter at 155 mph. Hit that several times just because I could. Fastest quarter mile time with me driving would bet dad's last Mustang. It was a 90 GT with 2 stages of nitrous. I went 9.76 at 135. Now I've ridden shot gone in my brothers 81 for a few "test hits." It went 8.56 at 167 at the time. It was a stock blocked 460 strokes to 514 with twin hair dryers and a blow through carb and Pro Comp junk heads. It's currently being reassembled with a A460 block and Trickflow A460 heads and fuel injection. And a bit stronger internals. Should be a bit faster.

Then theirs my other Mustang. It's an 86 GT. It put down 520hp on a 175 shot. Took it to the track and blew through the clutch. Do no times yet.

The fastest thing Ive driven is my 2003 zo6 that was pushing 750rwhp with a t-trim blower. I sold it 3yrs ago and i miss it so much.

here it is pushing 724rwhp with injectors maxed out. Went back with bigger injectors where it put down 750rwhp.

I drove my cousin's 900hp Nissan 300z with a RB2.6 swap and a big turbo. It was just nasty. Still not as fast as my zx14r though.

if mileage was low and it was in the low 40's, then that was a hell of a deal. I wouldn't of passed that up. 08's and up are still around 50k plus.

Fastest I have gone was in my 05 S4(very minor upgrades), 161 at a car place my friend worked security for
Raced a 5.0 in it and we stayed head to head from 70-100, but stang has to be fastest car I have driven. Been in a 11 second camaro I almost got and also a base vette the neighbor has(actually feels slow).

BMW hands down fastest sedan but the sports car goes to a turboed Fairlady Z and truck a F100 w a 460 would probably top the list but never got it on a paved road so my wife's Tundra which shuts off at 110.

Not crazy fast. Right around 100-110. Didn't want to crash the bosses car. But it did feel like it got there quick.

Are corvettes unreliable? I always kind of thought they would hold up pretty well based on my experience with vortec engines and considering how similar they are to some vette engines
