Focus RS...

...Coming to Merica! Confirmed by Mark Fields, Ford CEO. Said it was going to be released "globally" which indeed includes the states. Some say its going to be front wheel drive, but it is possible it could be awd. Powered with a 2.3L turbo ecoboost engine. Not sure what numbers it's going to put down but read it could be 300hp

Im not a huge "hot hatch" fan, but if I were.. Id be getting me one of those. BTW those rims look like they are straight off of a 2001 Volvo S series car. Didn't ford own Volvo during those years? Because I see a lot of volvo'esque things in the ford fusion I rented a while ago as well as in the 2012 ford focus delivery vehicle I drive every day. The shifters in the automatics that have leather on the bottom like a manual, and the trigger on the front of the knob. Plus the door latches and the way the leather is put together on the interior. Reminds me a LOT of my 2001 Volvo s60t5. Which was an awful car btw lol.

325-350 HP on the same 2.3L the '15 eco has not bad IMO. It'll be a fast little car no doubt. On what I have been reading it will be awd, (not front wheel) pretty cool. I wouldn't mind owning one of these lol

Perfect car for the ecoboost engine in my opinion. Im one of those guys who thinks the only limiting factor on engine size should be room in the engine bay.

Its going to be pricey though, think $35k range probably. I'd probably rather DD a $20k low mileage 11/12 Coyote at that price point... unless you need AWD of course.

I have to totally agree. While that RS is going to be bad *** fast, it's not something that I would buy. Its a cute looking car, but not American muscle looking like the S197's and prior.

Not only that but its really not going to be any more utilitarian than a S197 or S550. Small back seat, 2 door... I mean yes it is going to be sick but its only going to be worth it for Focus enthusiasts or someone who just likes that sort of car.

I would imagine this will be quite similar in price/performance as the current Evo X and STi.

With the Evo getting axed, that just leaves the WRX, STi and VW Golf R as the only current AWD hot hatches. This could certainly shake things up, considering how well thought of the previous generations of RS are in Europe.

That would make a great commuter car year round and the first gen Focus was AWD in Europe and a beast.

Looking forward to this release.
