TGR's garage/car shows and events...

I'm not much of a Jap car fan but there's a couple I like. I like the 09 Civic SI; I think it would be a nice driver to have. But only if it's a coupe with a manual...

I could very well be mistaken on this but I do believe the si's are only manual coupes. Or they may have been previously

They do make sedans; now if they offer autos I don't know. Everyone I've ever seen had a manual...

TGR's garage/car shows and events...

The only "rice" cars I'd consider buying is that and maybe a Cobalt SS...
Maybe a SRT4 neon...
I know I'm forgetting some, but these are the only ones that come to mind...

I had a first generation eagle talon tsi. To this day it is was one the most fun cars I've owned/driven and I've probably owned somewhere around 40 different cars and trucks (give or take a few). It was "riced" out, but I liked it at the time and that's all I cared about (plus it was when fast and the furious came out). Another one of my most favorite cars is my dodge stealth RT/TT. Lots of upgrades but still looks mostly stock didn't "rice" it out (thank goodness).

I still have the stealth, traded the talon off about 6 years ago. They are the 2 vehicles I've owned the longest.

05 Mercedes SL500. The car came in for a few repairs, that I can't think of at the moment. I'll get them at work tomorrow. It has a 5.0L V8 under the hood, and is pretty stout. It's one of those convertible hard top cars. Interior is very nice and brakes are marvelous. Stock exhaust sounds better than I expected. I believe the wheels are aftermarket, but I could be wrong on that. There isn't very many V8 Mercedes in town so I don't know if they are V8 wheels or not. Very nice piece...
Edit: I remember one issue. The trunk is closed but not properly. The message center is freaking out over it...

Upgraded the fuel pump and injectors (can't remember if I went with 550cc or 650cc this last time, I'll have to find my box). Which they came out stock with 360cc injectors. Front mount intercooler (which isn't big enough). Upgraded the turbos, and replaced all the plastic pipping with steel pipping. Upgraded the plugs and wires, went with a racing clutch (it was act new design at the time it has springs that are almost enclosed with a slit on each side of the disc over the springs). Has a SAFC II unit to control everything (keep in mind was done years ago now there's better ones out). Can't remember the brand of the boost controller each turbo is set at 12lbs in first gear, 15 in second gear, 18 psi in third gear, fourth and fifth is 18 or 20 psi. Blitz BoV, and other things that I can't remember without being around the car or looking in my boxes. Click image for larger version

What's your power figures, and engine size?
I understand our Porsche was built in the early 90s with the best of that era. By today's standards it has dated parts. But it's still very strong...

95 911. This the 95 911 posted earlier in the thread. It has the VERY rare carbon fiber interior package. It also has the turbo whale tail wing on it. This car was used for publicity and taken to several shows before it was sold to the owner. I'm not 100% if the current owner is the original owner or not. I'll find out later. The car is in for belt changes and the car has had battery issues for a long time. The battery goes flat often, but it can be said the car isn't driven enough to keep the battery alive (32,XXX original miles). The engine is a twin plug engine (2 spark plugs per cylinder). It runs off 2 distributors. With one main distributor powering 6 plugs while running the other distributor via belt driven. It's some complex engineering to say the least. Very nice car...

It has the 3.0L V6 DOHC 24valve engine. It was rated at 300hp and 306 ft lbs of torque at the crank stock. When I had it dyno'ed I drove 3 hours to get there. Unfortunately it messed up the ignition coil and a sensor while on the dyno. It got 338hp and 400 ft lbs of torque to the wheels on one pull. Before it messed up they did get some readings. My hp maxxed out at 4500 RPMs, from there to 7k RPMs hp stayed about the same. As my RPMs went up my boost went way down, they told me it was due to my intercooler being to small. From cars they've done and what I have done to mine they said if I get a bigger intercooler to keep my boost up because it dropping off so bad I should get another 75-100 hp out of it. Which I'm not sure if it would but going from 18-20 psi to half that as the RPMs climbed should make some difference if I could keep the boost from dropping like that. They said I would be able to pull a few more psi from the turbos with a big enough intercooler aswell.

Yep intercoolers make a difference. Those are some very good numbers. We've got a pretty good size intercooler on the Porsche...

So I guess a couple more dyno pulls and some tweaks on the tune will boost power figures. Which 300hp factory? Wow I need to check that out. Just shows you dodge need to crank up the numbers on the 5.7 in the Challenger. Do you have anymore pictures of the car?
Is your car similar to a 3000GT? They kinda look the same, and I'm curious...

Yes they are very similar to the 3000 gt. Mine being the dodge stealth RT/TT and for the 3000gt awd turbo car is the 3000 GT VR4. There's very few differences between the 2, most common are a few cosmetic things. If I remember correctly dodge stealth last year was 1996 where the 3000 GT last year was 1999. Unfortunately I don't have any more pics of it available right now. We just got moved into our new house so not sure where other pictures might be, those I had on my phone. The car is at my moms house needing some work done. I took it to the track and one of the axles ripped out on launch :-/

Well that sucks. I understand, our Porsche blew the engine because a rod wasn't properly stretched. But it's fixed now happened around 20 years ago. It gets expensive very quick. Hopefully you can get it fixed soon. I'd love to see some more pictures of it. There's a guy here with a red 3000GT, with black accents. It's pretty quick, every now and then I'll see him hammering on it. Sucker moves...
So are you upgrading anything else while it needs the Axel repaired?

I'm not sure yet, Within the last 6 months-a year I've done quiet a bit to it. Had the engine gone through, put a new crank and bearings in, both engine and transmission mounts were replaced with poly urethane mounts, at this time is when I had the bigger injectors installed, new air intake, hoses, vaccum lines and few other things. Now I'm thinking about getting it fixed and putting it up for sell. After I had it done the first time I was curious what the top speed was. So a buddy and I took a trip so we could find out. Mine is a 5 speed, so when we got our chance to check it out he was riding with me. It climbed quicker then I expected and winding fourth gear out to 174mph he was ready to slow down lol. Doing that never caused an issue with the car, it was being stuck in traffic and I didn't notice the temp gauge it overheated and spun a crank bearing *sigh*

I went all out ricer on it. TV screen, DVD player, alpine amp and subs (hit 144db) full body kit smoothed in, carbon fiber wing. The silver paint was from GM, the black cherry was from corvette and the yellow was Lamborghini gallardo. The interesting thing about the yellow was (rather true or not I don't know) that I was the first person to buy the gallardo yellow in the U.S. so I was told when purchasing it.

01 Sierra. Truck came in for a A/C compressor replace. We've done most of the repairs on the truck. The truck has the original powertrain. Yes, the miles are correct. There's moderate rust in the fender wells on the bed. Owners daughter dented the bed around the gas cap, recently. The interior is in very good shape considering the miles. Truck runs very good, shifts nice and smooth, and no rattles anywhere. Just goes to show you, if you take care of your vehicle it can last a life time...

TGR, wow...thx for this. I'm going to hold off on my pick of what I want as I feel sooner or later I'll see "the one" I'm going to admit the car that made me exclaim out loud was really the Accord that looked brand new. I know it was nothing special as a vehicle (except for being a great car) but from the pictures it looked to be in amazing condition. I had recently given respect to some dude at the gas station that had an early 80's? Chevy S10 in perfect condition. As you (and followers of this thread) know there are all types of cool cars that don't have to be Muscle Cars/Exotics or even fast.

Special props for getting permission from the owners B4 posting pictures.

Yes they are, and they're easy to drive. Which I believe we have an 08 SI coming for maintenance. If it's the one that we worked on before its dark blue with black cloth with red inserts. Good looking car.

Yes, that was a very well preserved car. It drove just as good as it looked. Not one issue with the carb. As stated in the post they ordered the car directly from Japan, not through a dealer. But you're right there's nothing special about an 83 Honda, except this car!
