I think I have one car sold and it is almost enough to finish the car. Fingers crossed! More to come soon.

Worked on the rear bumper today and ordered some goodies. Have someone buying the Audi tomorrow. So, that'll cover wheels tires and basically finish the body. Then the interior and glass then done!

Yes sir. Lots of fine automobiles. And thank you, the car is getting prettier every day. Word of advice, don't restore an E body. Prices are ridiculous.

No worries, I'm a strictly Ford only guy (my resto project is a 68 Cougar). But as Ford biased as I am, I still appreciate a well done car and the effort behind it. Seeing cars like your Impala and Mopar only reinforce how careful and thorough I should be on my own car.

TGR's Garage...

68 Cougar GT-E ranks 3rd on my favorite classic muscle list. I will most likely get hell for this but I'd take a classic Cougar over a classic Mustang.
Any pictures of your car? I'd love to see it.
Should clarify...
Cougar 67-70
Mustang 65-78

Looking great!

This past weekend pulled the driver's door off my Dad's '69 Camaro and brought it to a body guy to take care of some gnarly wrinkles in the door skin. OEM GM sheet metal for that car is CRAZY expensive.

I cant even imagine the price of a 100% resto project on a Mopar. I know from my uncle who did a few and bought a few already done that its HUGE and that was more than 10 years ago.

Thats why the "restomods" are sooo freaking expensive! All the OEM or remanufactured OEM parts, plus all the expense of the modern parts coupled with all the custom work to make it all go right. I would love one though. All the modern comforts of a 2016 but the actual interior and body of a classic.

Yea, Mopars are outrageous. The Challenger has a lot in it, but some unexpected things came up. But I believe the car, in its current state, can be finished for around 10 grand.

^ That's a bargain!

Try working on a Camaro that spent 30 years on blocks under a tarp in the backyard (all original, single owner, though)...

Still not so bad...have definitely passed that threshold for the Tarp Camaro.

Won't clutter up your thread too much, but a few pics.

How the car spent the last few decades. I remember as a kid helping my dad wax the thing when he stopped driving it in the early 80s.

Looking a little tired...

Engine bay freshened up and motor rebuilt

Car show pic from the summer

Enjoy! Plan is to fix up the driver door and the rust spots behind the wheels and keep it "survivor" status for a bit until I raise the funds to have all the body work done.

Got it on a drive on rack today and installed the passenger side exhaust system. We have factory exhaust measurements and bend degree diagrams for most classics. So, it'll be 100% OEM besides the flowmasters. The mufflers are a little bit bigger than factory. 80 series. I wasn't able to get photos of the exhaust but I'll post some tomorrow when we make the driver side. It won't be very long before the car is running. So, I'll get a video for anyone who wants one.

^ Looking better with each post! Yes, please, on the video!

One question...my Camaro project still has the factory exhaust pipes (with new OEM muffler). If I wanted new ones fabbed, would it make sense to have them done in stainless by a custom shop?

Cruiser, mostly. The old exhaust pipes don't have any holes, but I'm not sure how much life they have left in them before they start to fall apart. Would want to replace with something that won't be prone to rusting.

TGR's Garage...

I have aluminize steel exhaust pipe on my Impala for almost 7 years/6k miles. No rust yet, but it also doesn't get driven in the rain or winter. Plus, I'm using aluminize steel pipe for my Challenger. But it's what ever you want to do. If you can afford the stainless go for it. Either way you'll be good for several years.

Finished the exhaust system today, and mounted the shifting linkages. The exhaust system was bent to factory specs. It was all factory bends for a T/A to the mufflers compared to a regular 340 Challenger. Only difference is obviously the unique mufflers and tail pipes. So everything from the manifolds to the muffler is shared with regular 340s. Mufflers are a little bigger than stock, they're flowmasters 80 series. Then all the linkages are mounted to the trans. Next on the list is start plumping the fuel system and brake lines.

Every day is a joyride.

Yes it is. Finally got my driver side door mirror. I was supposed to get it Christmas; it had a 60 day waiting period, out of stock. So it took almost double that time span to get it. Sent the mirror and my battery tray to get painted; yes the tray is painted. So, the guy that painted the car will get around to painting them sometime this week.
You still need to make a trip up here and take a ride in all of them! Maybe even drive a few... 👌
You can tell me how slow my Mustangs are compared to yours.

Thanks! It's more rough than it looks but honestly is the best starting vehicle I've ever had. I really enjoy it although it's at my parents over an hour away. Someday I'll own my own place and I can get started on it.

You can feel free to restore it for me if you really want to restore one 😆

TGR's Garage...

They always do, but you'll enjoy the restoration. Since, I doubt you'd sell it to me.

Every day is a joyride.

^ front end done. All wiring is finished (except blinkers) and headlights properly mounted.
Wheels, among other things, are ordered! So, there will be more updates soon!

10 Camaro SS. As you can see it has a lot of visual mods. We cut the cats off of it. The car will be returning for a lifter/pushrod upgrade and tip adjustment. Then owner is planning a possible blower install. Everything is better with boost. Nice piece.
