What color is it? I've never seen one like it, it looks like a neat color.

TGR's Garage...

He told me once and now I can't remember. I know it's an OEM color. He's a friend, and the car will be back sometime for the upgrades I mentioned. Plus he has a maroon SS and I think that's coming in for cat deletes. I'll find out what it is and let you know. It had a kinda Mystichrome effect. But not as many colors.

Tray and mirror are finally painted and installed. Wheels and taillight trim will be here either Friday or next week. I got a few photos of the car my painter is working on now. I'll post up some pictures of it later tonight.

^ Nice work! Body guy working on the driver door of my '69 Camaro project wants to reskin it due to some rust front lower corner and some old collision damage. I'd rather it be patched if at all possible, since the steel's original only once.

NOS OEM door skins are like $800! Sheesh.

TGR's Garage...

Just wait to see what he's working on. Nearly all my older cars have been in collisions/show evidence of one. This challenger was hit hard in the driver rear quarter panel. One explanation to the driver door have 4 different colors on it.

68 Catalina. So, some history. Original family owned since new. It's a factory 400 with A/C. Reason it looks like it has two radios in it. One is the A/C controls. Original interior. One of the best bodies the restorer has seen to date. Only repair work needed was in the rear wheel wells as seen. Much better condition than the two he painted for me. Anyway, some of the old car enthusiasts on the forum visit this thread. Figured you guys would like to see this beauty!

Tail light trim came in today. Along with side markers and trim; plus wheel center caps. Finally shifter boot and clutch fork are here. T/A 15in staggered Rallye wheels should arrive tomorrow. Very happy with the results.

Sold the Audi; so bought a few things for the Challenger. Now if I get the MG sold I could have the car pretty damn close to being finished.
Plus, I bought some wheels for the Roush, and brakes will be ordered soon hopefully.

Dual carb install. We had to relocate one of the inlets to the blower housing. Reason being the carburetor wouldn't fit unless it was relocated.

Test drive to check our work. Needs some more fine tuning. It sputters at a taller gear at lower speeds. But it is much easier to drive and the car doesn't feel like it wants to kill you anymore.
Example: 35mph in fourth gear. It doesn't like it.

Car has been plagued with ignition issues since purchase. So we eliminated the system. Now has the two power switches and a push button ignition. Picture is during install.

This is actually scattered throughout the years . The list would be long, but certain makes, and models caught my fancy. Then there are some that same year different model. I would want to set my eyes on it. I love the XJ6 of 1971. Didn't like the way the XK-E looked for a long time. I'd drive one now. If I could own one. I'd do that too. Too rich for my blood.

Everything is looking good. This makes me wish I didn't refuse to become a car tech. No, I wanted to blaze my own path. Who knows, maybe I wouldn't still have time to work on my vehicles either way.

^ our own custom fueling and ignition system we made in about 2mins.
We started the engine Monday. First time I've heard the 340 in 4 years. It was running like crap, but to just hear it run was more than enough. Reason we started it is to check oil pressure, makes 100psi. Yesterday was a timing set day and attempt to tune the carbs. Timing is set but carbs need more adjusting, running rich, so tomorrow will be a second go. Little by little the car is coming together.

71 Ranger XLT. One owner. Did some exhaust work. As you can see owner swapped a 4.6L 2V out of a 97 Grand Marquis. The front cross member and suspension are out of the Grand Marquis. 07 Grand Marquis steering rack. It also has some battery issues. But the truck is well done. It's still in restoration so just working out all the bugs. Really like the paint combo and interior. Very nice truck.

49 Chevy coupe. Came in for exhaust modification. The rear will be lowered so we had to cut out the over axel pipe and make the bend higher. Has a 5.3L Vortec. Sounds really nice and looks great. We'll be seeing this car again along with all the owner's collection, mostly Studebakers. Nice piece.

Chevy = nice! I'm used to seeing Fords from that era and the Chevy is different enough to make it stand out. Nice stance on it and it looks like something you can drive.

I also liked the fuel/ign unit you showed us earlier. Sometimes good enough is all you need.

96 Silverado Z71. In for a cat check. Yet another well preserved vehicle. That is the original mileage, very low. Truck is in excellent shape. Interior is near perfect. Nice piece.

70 Torino Cobra. Car is an ORIGINAL 429 SCJ top loader 4 speed 9 in rear end, with the drag package. Yes, that's original mileage. We're doing exhaust on it. As you can see it's a little dirty. I might clean it later in the week. Owner also has an orange Cobra with the same options, also a 71 Torino GT, 351 Cleveland. Big Torino enthusiast. I'll cover the exhaust job when it's ready. It's staying for a few days. Very very very nice car.
