10 Camaro SS. Installed some Flowmasters. LS3 sure sounds good! Nice piece.

61 Impala. We did an exhaust repair. Car is in excellent shape. Owner's two other Chevy's are national champions, 57 Bel Air (posted earlier in the thread) and 57 Corvette. He has excellent taste. Very nice piece.

Why didn't they keep using turbines?

16 Challenger Hellcat. Had to make a run to my local Dodge dealer for some parts. It's a 6 speed! Snapped a few photos of it. Love them.

I think that the biggest reason that turbine engines have never been successful in an automotive application is because they aren't very fuel efficient. Turbines spin at such a high RPM, that they use almost as much fuel idling, as they do at full throttle! Also, the power band is different than an internal combustion engine. It is much narrower, and when you add throttle, the power increases much slower than a piston engine.
They can be very powerful engines though. And they are lightweight, compact and reliable. All attributes that make turbines well suited for use in aircraft, where they run at high, constant, power settings most of the time.

TGR's Garage...

Yes, it is. Remember to stop by if you're in the area. To check out the cool stuff we're working on. Tomorrow we'll have a 36 Ford for an alignment.

Unhappy

I can't wait to see the 36...is it a Coupe, Roadster or Sedan. I assume it has something other than a straight axle in it???
I really liked the 61...wanted a 63 and settled for 64 327/300hp 4spd...all factory. Sold it when I got married the first time...almost 50 years ago

Sorry for the delay on the 34 Ford (correction). We're slammed. It'll probably be another 12+ hour day. New record for most cars on the lot at one time, 67. Pictures will be up shortly, I hope.

If that car had some 1980's-style graphics painted on the sides, I would fully expect to see Billy Gibbons swing the door open and hop out.

I think I need to come up for a visit. For a reward you should remove my cats and help me locate my trans whine

Just think, I can record, mix and master a background track for a website and a commercial.

My buddy's 73 Nova SS prostreet is back. We had the carb converted back to pump gas from E85. Next will be ball joints and tie rods then a good alignment.

So it took forever but the steering column is finished. Brand new internals, prepped and painted the column. Original unrestored wood grain steering wheel is mounted. Should have the column in tomorrow hopefully.

15 Challenger Scat Pack. We did an oil change on it. It's a manual (+1) if you're wondering. It's no secret that I love the new Challengers, and this one is awesome. Talked with the owner about doing more mods on it (longtubes). It's strait pipe and sounds pretty good surprisingly, very little rasp. Really cool guy, likes the 05-09 retro mustangs. Really nice piece.

Alignment is done and car drives great now. Today did some carb tuning. Car idled at 3 grand. Idling much better now, 900ish, turns out gasket under the carb is needing to be replaced. I'll get better photos of the car tomorrow.

Was it a kit car or real deal Henry steel?
I love the early Fords just wish more people would put Fords in a Ford and Chevy's in Chevy's...unless it's a Hemi....IMHO

07 Mustang GT/CS. We did an exhaust repair on it. I really like the interior in this CS. Everything complements each other so well. As usual it's loaded; wishing my 3Vs had some more options. Car sounds pretty good, no mufflers, stock headers and mid pipe. Nice piece.

It is. Owner is really nice and we'll most likely see the car again. He has some mods planned and will have us install them.
