Well, have you gathered up all of the old welding helmets that you can find around the shop, so that all of you can view the solar eclipse tomorrow, Recon?

I'm got my helmets and will invite some of my team out. We did it last several yrs ago when some planet went across the sun. That was one where I'm glad I looked but only for saying I saw it. In CT it'll be around 70% or so...whatever I'll take a look at it.

I wouldn't be surprised if some of the locals actually did that. Then again special glasses are being sold here for .50.

Pretty darned cool!
It wasn't a total eclipse here in Northern California, but still an interesting thing to see.
Everyone to the east should check it out if you have a chance!

Yes, a once in a lifetime even for this guy and very cool indeed!
We had total eclipse here in Salem, Oregon. We had street lights come on and it reminded me of being above the Arctic Circle during the time of the year the sun never sets, just like dusk all night.
If any of you get the SCI channel they will have a great segment on this later today.

I will say it does have a busy exhaust system underneath. It sounded very good with the resonators gone. Still have stock mufflers. Longtubes are planned in the future. So I'll get some body photos then.

86 Land Cruiser. We did an exhaust repair. It was rubbing on the driver rear tire. As you can see the SUV is in excellent shape, and is all original. Nice piece.

Pretty sure it needs a caliper rebuild. If nothing else, the other side pushed the pistons out of the caliper.

I wonder if it pulled to the side under braking? Lol

Are you saying that someone installed that pad in backwards, and then drove the car with it like that?!?
Is that what you are telling us, Recon???

TGR's Garage...

Rotor looks like a mountain range. On one side. Or maybe a trench would be better.

Lol.
I guess they drove it around until they finally decided that the horrible grinding noise, and the severe pull under braking, didn't seem to be going away after the "break-in" period. Haha

That's the kind of stuff that will keep food on the table Recon!

Being the great mechanic you are I'm sure you reused those pads, just wire brushed em, put em back in right side up and told the customer it'll take a while for the pads to wear in to the wear groves on the rotors. She be fine.
