TGR's garage/car shows and events...

I just spoke with the owner of the white Porsche. The car is a REAL 911S, with a period correct 911S engine (not original engine to the car). The estimated value for a real 68 911S starts at $550,000 and goes up from there.

Jeep Wrangler. Year is unknown. It's a real metal jeep not some fiberglass body. Engine displacement is unknown, but it's a small block chevy, and it's cammed. It's a really nice piece as you can see from the pictures. I'm not a truck/SUV person at all, but I like this jeep. We rebuilt the Holley carb on it, now the it's in for tuning. I really like the red interior. It has a lot of very tasteful mods on it. Nice jeep.

That's a nice YJ which is the body style I'm looking to buy when I can afford it.

Yes, a very nice piece. We finally got the carb adjusted and the engine timing where it should be, today. Now a tested drive, to proof the work. I'm looking forward to it.

We had a 15 GT here today; it's coming tomorrow for resonator deletes and X pipe install. It's a very nice car, he also owns a 06 Roush stage 1.

Jaguar XJR. I forgot the model year, I'm thinking maybe an 04. Anyway it was in for a throttle body replacement and gasket. For those that don't know it's an XJ8 with the R package. Basically think of the XJ8 as a New edge GT and the XJR as the Mach 1 or Cobra. It's the hot rod, and a really nice piece too. We used to own a S-type R, and it was a beast. I think it was a 3.9L V8 supercharged 400HP, and it had a few more goodies. Anyway this car is very well maintained. I was only able to drive it around our parking lot, so nothing really to report about driving behavior.

Mercedes CLK430. It's V8 powered, displacement is 4.3L I believe. Again I've forgotten the model year. Owner is a very good customer. It came in because of the window not sealing properly. When the door handle is pulled the window drops about an inch, just like our cars. Well when he closed the door the window wouldn't go up. After some trial and error diagnosis, the issue was fixed via scan tool. The car is very strong, HP numbers are unknown. Very nice smooth ride, good brakes. Nice car.

13 Audi A4 Quattro. Again very good customer. After vehicle was purchase we have been the only place where the car receives repairs/maintenance. It is a supercharged 3.0L V6, and with the AWD and strong Paddle shift auto. It's a very impressive performance machine. Shifts are smooth and very quick, that includes downshifting. Vehicle came with 20in Audi premium wheels, but cause noise. Owner replaced them with Audi 18in wheels, and noise left. It was in for tire replacements. Very nice car and good quality people as its owners. I could give a list of maintenance on the vehicle since purchase, but I didn't ask the owner for his approval. Anyway a very nice car.

Update on 54 chevy. Tuning carb now. Brakes shoes have been replaced and adjusted. Brakes properly bleed and are stopping on a dime. But carb tuning is in progress. Timing has already been adjusted. 10 degrees out of time, now in proper time.

Update on white Porsche. After doing research and testing. We've found that one cam was installed upside down. And the other side the valves are bent, possible piston contact. Cams were not degreed before install, that is most likely the cause of the issues stated.

Porsche put a dot to indicate the top of the cam. We highlighted the dots in blue. Both dot should be facing up, as you see one is facing in opposite direction.

It's a perk in the engine's design. If things are install incorrectly the engine won't run. It's basically protecting itself for improper maintenance. That also means everything has to perfect for thee gone to run. These engines are very demanding, but worth it.

Our engines are worlds apart from these. These are so meticulous, I mean everything has to be perfect. And our engines are less complicated to work on that this one.

My 2000 post... 😁

46 Willys Jeep. Vehicle came in for various issues. Some repairs that I can remember are, intake/exhaust manifold replace, both diff. serviced, full service oil change, (finding an oil filter was a complete pain), trans service, axel repair, carb rebuild, radiator repair, and head work preformed. That's all I can remember off the top of my head. It drove pretty well, except the shifter absolutely sucked (3spd). The flat head 4 made some decent power for what it was, with the single barrel carb. Steering nice and smooth. Got a lot of attention while it as at the shop, for 8 months. Parts were difficult to locate; that's the reason it stayed so long. It is a real metal Willys not a fiberglass replica, and it's a family owned, since original purchase. Owner is a very nice guy who I might see at some car shows. Very nice piece.

Yeah mine had 6 also. I think all the 96-04s did? Mine still ran fine, interesting.

I believe the new edge GTs had a 4 converter system. I could be wrong on that. I know the new edge Cobras had a 4 converter system. I think the new edge V6 had the 6 converter set up. But on the older SN-95 I'm not sure what they used.
