32 hours 51 minutes. That's moving along pretty good!

The current record is 4 hours faster!

No real updates with the car, my chin spoiler is getting pretty beat up so I think I'm gonna take it off. I plan on getting something to replace it eventually, but for the time being it will have to go back to stock.

I just finished up a turbo, downpipe, and exhaust manifold install on the red Evo. He is scheduled for a tune on wednesday and should be putting down right around 500awhp.

Almost. Put down 492whp and 371wtq. He stopped by last night and let me drive it, it lost low end torque but picks up quite well in the higher rpm range. Redline got bumped from 7k to 8k and boost holds all the way up there. It's actually very tame and comes on smooth enough that you don't realize how fast you are going.

That's pretty good!
Those cars don't look like they could ever really be that fast. A hot rod, all-weather, commuter car!
Hmmm
Hey, how big is the trunk on one of those cars? Haha. Never mind!

Well it will be interesting to see if he will be able to walk you now. What was your feeling on that, after the test drive?

I kinda do too.
That 4 banger starts to make power at a slower rate as soon as the torque drops off in the 6000ish range.
Those cars still blow my mind though. That little engine has to be making in the vicinity of 600hp at the crankshaft.

Yeah some of those things are just bananas. I definitely respect the hell out of them.

Yeah his car is quite the "sleeper" if you could call it that. It's great at everything so far, he has a set of snow mounted on the stock wheels and says it handles the snow just fine.

Trunk space is awful, my car has more space than his Evo.

He will walk me pretty hard, I can guarantee that. In all honesty I was surprised, it has such a smooth power delivery compared to the stock turbo and it holds the power quote well. There isn't any sort of torque steer at all despite being a transverse engine.

Nope. He would put a half car on me from a 50 roll on his new (375whp 432wtq) E85 map, the previous E85 (340whp unknown wtq) map I would put 3+ cars on him. With this new turbo he should start walking me as son as he pools. It's been rainy right now so we haven't had a chance to play.

It makes that power because they tuned it to do that believe it or not. This turbo should support a mid 400s wtq number but the rods can't handle it. The way to get around it is to dial back the torque using the Mi-Vec variable valve timing.

God dammit... https://denver.craigslist.org/cto/5264198808.html

I would seriously ditch my vette to have this back.

I don't see any mention of recent engine work in that ad. I wonder if it still has a dead cylinder?
I also wonder if you would still want it back, if you drove it again, after owning the Vette for a while now?

I don't think it still has the dead cylinder, the mileage is 7k higher than when I sold it and he put in a new clutch.

I mostly want it for the sentimental value and because I plan on getting a Z06 as my next corvette purchase, so the fact that I will eventually get back into a corvette would help ease the lack of power and handling that the GT has.

Honestly I think it looks worse with the dipped wheels. I don't think he did anything to it other than dipping the wheels and slapping a new motor in.

I agree on the white letters. Personally I'm just not a fan of the black wheels on a black car look.

Well go buy it back then. Lol. Maybe you can get it for around what you sold it for and now it has the cylinder repaired and a new clutch!

If only, he wouldn't let it go for anywhere near what he bought it for.

No I did not buy my mustang back. This is the only teaser I'll put up for now. I'm doing some research on it and I should have a thread up tomorrow.

I figured everybody was going the Bullitt route so I decided to join in. It's lonely on the dark side

Mile High JDF's dark side build thread

I'm curious why someone would put GT badges on a 3V Bullitt. Being they never came with fender emblems, from the factory.
