How is the costs of aftermarket parts compared to 99-04 Mustangs?

Exhaust is super expensive compared to a SN95 but it's competitive with S197 exhaust prices. Most of the nice axleback are around $1,200- $1,500 and long tubes run around $1,100- $1,600 depending on brand and quality. Wheels are around the same price, suspension is more expensive because the only real option for an upgrade is either coilovers or upgraded monoleaf springs. Engine parts are about the same price if not a little cheaper. I priced out cam kits to right around $800.

Baseball sized hail?!?

I'm kind of concerned about the Bullitt right now... And your Vette, of course.
Everything ok?

Yes baseball sized hail. Most of the hail that size came down closer to the front range than I am. We probably my had closer to marble sized hail at my house. The Bullitt has my garage space and the Z is made of fiberglass, so I wasn't too worried about that. The only damage any of my cars suffered was a minor windshield chip in the Z

Minor update time. Not much has been going on with the car. I sold my truck and have been DD'ing the Z for the past few weeks and will try to pick up something cheap near the end of summer. I sold the MGW about a month ago and was driving around with the stock shifter until today. Now I've got a C6Z shifter with a shift knob out of a Centennial edition. I'm running around without a shift boot for now because the C5 boot doesn't fit with the C6 knob. I'll pick up a matching shift boot here in the next few weeks.

On to other news, I found that I have the dreaded yellow valve springs. For those that aren't familiar with them the 01-02 Z06 got a set of valve springs that are prone to collapsing or breaking with no real warning signs. I haven't decided what I'm gonna do yet, though I would really like to just do a cam at the same time.

If you stay stock cam you can pick up the BTR 550 lift springs for $60. Exact same springs As the blue ls6/ls2 springs

That is good to know. I'm leaning towards going with a different cam because I only want to do the job once, but I'm still tossing that around.

Nothing, I just wanted something a little easier to use. It had some very stiff centering springs to it and made hitting 5th and 6th a little tough on occasion.

Minor update time.

I decided on just replacing the valve springs for now and doing a cam swap later on when I'm in a better position to do it. In other news, I took the car to the drag strip a couple weeks ago. My best pass was a 13.6 @ 108mph with a DA of 9801. I was fairly pleased to find out that my car is a tad bit faster than my buddies '10 GS with me pulling a car on him by then end of the track. I've been focusing on getting moved out of my place so mods won't be coming for a while.

That's pretty good!
Corrected, that must be in the 12's huh?

Do the Grand Sports have launch control?

Yeah, not really imperative to do any mods until your friends start catching you! Haha

Where are you moving to?

Yes it should be in the 12s corrected. I know his does but he didn't use it th at night. That was the only day I'll be able to best him for a long time, his car is going in for a H/C/I setup sometime this week or next week. That means I'm gonna be the slow friend for a long time.

I'm moving out of my house and back into an apartment.

Swapped in a C6Z shifter with a Centennial edition suede shift knob and boot. I also picked up a Bluetooth FM transmitter that I'll be installing later today. Also have some pictures from before an ECS cruise last month.

Technically speaking, doesn't the Corvette need to be produced for another 36 years to be able to have a "centennial edition"?

Chevy's Centennial year not Corvette's.

Hmmm.
I wonder if they made a "centennial edition" Suburban?
I believe that is Chevrolet's longest running model name...

It is, and possibly. I don't know, Suburban's don't really interest me so.

Interesting note the Z06 came with ZR1 brakes on the Centennial editions.

Yeah, I don't follow what's happening in the modern Suburban world much myself.

But these are pretty damned cool!

Ok just making sure. The subtle touches they did with the CE is pretty sweet, but the car is definitely not worth the money.

Damn, I literally just checked in on this forum. The corvette is currently not running. The roller in one of the lifters on cylinder 7 has at least partially seized and it chewed up the cam lobe. I discovered that back in late August and the car has been sitting ever since. The current plan is just to go with an aftermarket cam, springs, and push rods along with replacing the lifters and necessary gaskets. I can't afford to do all the other bolt-on at the moment, so my gains from the cam won't be nearly as much as advertised. It's been pretty frustrating because the car was my daily at the time and I had to scramble to find a replacement.

The Bullitt is gone, sold it in the end of July

That sucks!
Oh well. It'll have a new cam anyway.
My newest truck, which is a Chevy, is also broken. It's relatively minor though... The transmission cooler lines are apparently a chronic problem with Chevrolet trucks, and they are both leaking. Along with one of the oil cooler lines! The damned truck doesn't even have 30k miles on It!
You know what they say... "If it has tits or tires, you're gonna have trouble with it!" Haha

Yeah all it did was force my hand by about a year on the cam and I really needed a new dd anyways. I just don't like how it all happened. I'm hoping to have it up and running early 2018 unless Texas Speed runs a killer Black Friday/Cyber Monday deal on cam packages

Such a shame that happened. Hopefully it'll be running again in no time. Plus that cammed Pushrod lope is just pure awesome.

Swapped everything out, just waiting to schedule a time for a tune now. Went with a Texas Speed Magicstick 3 238/242 int/exh duration @.050 .600"/.600" lift int/exh with a 112 lsa, LS7 lifters, PAC .660" springs, 7.400" TSP hardened push rods, and a CHE trunion upgrade. Ended up being the exhaust lobe on cylinder 8 got the brunt of the damage. The intake on cylinder 1 was on its way out though, and other cylinders were starting to put as well.Click image for larger version

You will love the ms3. Great cam choice 👍

A couple weeks ago I did a ms3 on a 113 Lsa and some PRC stage 2.5 heads on a 5.3.

I'm really looking forward to driving it around! I've driven a buddies Grand Sport with PRC 2.5 heads, ported LS3 intake, and a TSP Stage 4 cam and I had a blast driving that, I can only hope mine will drove remotely close to the same. I'm hoping it will make in the high 300s

Yeah it's a C5Z, but I don't have headers or anything else right now. I couldn't really affprd to get it all done at once.

I assumed you had longtubes and a few Bolton's already. If it's stock besides the cam I say knocking on 390's door

Hopefully later in the year I can get all the standard bolt-ons done. Right around 390 is what I was guessing as well.

There wasn't a large amount of metal, but the oil had a bit of a shine to it.
