My 95 F150 hit 200,000 miles coming home from work. My family purchased from the estate of original owner in 2000, who was actually distant family and lived less than a mile away. I've been driving it (legally) since 2002. It's been a darn good truck and I hope it lasts many more miles!

That's great man. I have a 10 with 80k. Ur trick makes me feel better about the mileage I have on it now. I always thought to myself if it could go to 200k with no serous issues I would be happy

My Silverado is getting close to 200k. Around 195 and change. Always dependable and regular maintenance. Damn good truck.
Going to be doing some body work to it soon. And already have a plan of the 5.3 ever blows up. Not that I'm trying to, but just in case something happens.
C5Z 5.7 LS6 H/C/I/E and a good converter.

Adventure till you drop.

My 91 F250 has 586k miles and it is the most reliable vehicle that I own.

You should have many more years with your truck.

Now that's what I'm talking about! What motor do you have?

👍🏻

A 460 is pretty tough to beat. I would not had been surprised if you'd said it was an I6 300 with those miles.

460 is a beast. I want to see one in a Mustang II or like a Pinto. Small car with a huge engine.

I've seen a Pinto in a magazine before with a 460 (it could've been a 429 but same idea)? It was pretty crazy but still it's a Pinto- not a car I'd be willing to sink money into.

It's the second engine but it has over 400k on it. The original engine developed a rear seal leak at around 170k, so rather than fixing it, I did a street style rebuild to gain a little extra power over the stock engine.
It still runs pretty good but it's starting to get a little tired. The engine probably has 1000 full throttle hits on it! Haha
I have two trucks powered by 460's. The other one is an F350 with a 19 foot car hauler bed on it.

The 385-series engines (429/460) are strong engines although the 460 was never intended to be a true "performance" engine. They were never used in any production performance cars. The head design is very restrictive, particularly on the exhaust side.
The aftermarket was slow to come up with a solution due to the focus on the more popular Chevy big block. Nowadays, there are a few options for excellent flowing heads, so it is easier to make decent power with the 460's. And it can be done using the stock crankshaft and rods! People routinely run 700+ hp through the stock bottom end! And the size of the engine block allows for fairly large stroked cranks to be installed without having to do any machining to the block.
