Am I crazy?

Hey guys, having lots of thoughts.. really missing my new edge. I lost it due to an idiot hitting me head on back in 12. I bought a 2010 gt to replace it but I really want a new edge back. I'm thinking about trying to find someone to trade with, with some boot on there end obviously. Bad idea? Think anybody would?

I would think the moons would have to align perfectly for you to make this deal. Why not just trade in?

If it's a not a 4V then you're downgrading.

I understand that I'll be losing power and that's fine. But I miss my old car, I have some mods I took off of my old car. It's not about power to me, I just prefer the new edge look.

Am I crazy?

Your car should be very close to a 4V in terms of value.

I'm thinking my car is worth 16-17, if I can find someone wanting to trade up with a real clean new edge I think it'd be better than going through all the dealer headache. I don't see many new edges in dealerships anyways. I just really miss my new edge.

Start tinkering with your 10GT and who knows, you might start to like it more. From the pics it looks to be a sweet ride.

Ul have a better chance buying the edge out right than to find someone that will trade you plus money. Keep your 10 and get your edge👍🏻

Or sell your 10 and then find a real nice NE.

Or hot cam your 10 and maybe you'll like it more. Its the only year with the updated body style that can have that nice lumpy cam sound without a ghost cam although I'm sure anyone would still rather have the 5.0 motor.

That would have to work out perfect for him to find a buyer for his car while buying his edge. I believe his 10 is his dd?

It is my dd, I do have a truck but I prefer the mustang of course. I did get the car nobody wants and I did want a 5.0. It was my first big purchase, and I was on a budget. 5.0's were like 5 grand higher. I got what I think is a good deal on it. The car is great, runs great, I like the interior. I have a few mods from my ole car and prefer the new edge body style. I did put it up on Craigslist and have had 6 people in the last few hours contact me about it. I guess if I can't get a trade which I understand is highly unlikely I will try to sell it myself. I definitely don't want to take it to a dealer and get less than what it's worth

I have thought about cams, heads, headers, cai, tune, short throw shifter etc.. I did buy new wheels for it but I've yet to jump on tires. I hate spending money on something I don't know if I'll have for years. Everyone knows when it's time to sell you don't get your money back for mods.

I hear ya, I have my doubts too. Waiting on more pictures. Just going off of what I'm told. I guess it's the stalker body kit? Not sure about it, I'm on the fence. Can't tell if it's cool or too much lol.

I'm not buying it. That thing isn't a Roush. Ask him to prove it is.

Pass on that. With the $$$ you can get for yours get a real clean bone stock or lightly enthusiast modified Mach or 01 Cobra.

^ what I've been saying. No point in getting a GT. Get a 4V or don't bother. Or a super clean Bullitt.

A GT is fine but it would need to be very low mileage and priced right. If priced right it's really not much of a disadvantage to the NA 4V. Its just finding them in good shape is harder.

Damn someone needs to put that Foush out of its misery, or at the very least relieve it of the fugly stalker kit. Some people, damn

I can understand where you're coming from man. The new edge era, while flawed and definitely outdated by today's standards, will always have a special place in mustang history imo. The body style looks good from nearly every angle. I also believe that it was the last mustang era to offer that raw feel.
The S197 & S550 platforms are great no doubt but they all feel refined. Fast, but refined in how they deliver power, which is also a testament to how technology has advanced and produced more rounded performance, but sometimes you just want that vicious, raw sound and simplicity, which is where the new edges accel.

That being said, your 2010 looks very clean. If you can swing it, I say keep the 10 and pick up a GT as a project car. They are cheap, easy to work on and have decent potential.

I would say $8,000 tops. I think the seller is riding the Comp. Orange curtails. Frankly, it's only a rare color on the 04 Cobras. Semi Rare on the Mach 1's, even after the transmission breakdown.

It is a premium, so it has the nicer radio, 01 Cobra wheels etc. Hard to tell in the pic but it looks like it might have the larger headrests which means it has the Interior Upgrade Package.

If it's clean it would be a nice car. Don't see too many of the comp orange cars running around despite several thousand were made.

I dunno that is going to be every bit of $8k. I might even go up to $8500 but no more. That's one you you and try to lowball and then tell him to call you if it doesn't sell and hope for a phone call. If someone pays $10k for it then they pay $10k for it and you keep looking.

Eh... comp orange is rare enough but not super rare like ppl will lead you to believe. Although a 2004 Mach Auto in CO... there were only like 200...

124 to be exact, then you could break that down further to IUP and non IUP cars if you were real serious.

And I agree, if the seller wants to sell he will take your offer. If not he will play the field and try to get the best price. There are plenty of cars out there and deals to be had.

To give you some perspective, I paid $10k for my Mach 1 in June '14. 58k miles, factory 4V and T3650, needed a new hood stripe and a $20 defrost vent. There are deals out there.

My Chrysler dealer sold one last year. $12,5XX with 55K miles. See it every now and then. Those Borla mufflers sure sound good on it.

Yes Mach 1 FTW!! There is a really nice DSG Mach 1 right down the road from me, all bolt ons, cams, tune, suspension, wheels/tires, really really clean, 64k miles, perfect body, interior is immaculate, etc, etc. Its like my perfect NE. At a small performance dealer, legit place, owner of the dealer/shop told me 10,800 will take it, thats what he paid so he says. Its a good deal compared to others I see around me. You could sell yours, get something like that and have 6 or 7k to throw a SC or turbo on it.

The 4v would definitely be the way to go. I guess my 10 is going up for sale. I could keep it and buy a new edge but I have 4 vehicles now and some extra mod money is nice. That being said what is a reasonable price for my 2010?

Look at the book values and don't expect to sell it to any enthusiasts lol. I'd say $14,000-$16,000.

And don't count out the 2V. If you find a screaming good deal on a 2V, get it. Same trans, same bottom end, same rear for the Mach etc... etc... Brakes and seats and stuff are easy swaps. Personally I'd get whatever is in the best condition. If you find a mint 2V for $8k or a 4V in just ok shape for $10k I'd get the GT.

If that car is straight then that's a damn deal considering off the shelf cams alone are ~1300. Add another 1200-1500 for install and tune. I'm surprised you haven't talked yourself into it yet

4V's are nice, but if I wanted to boost a n/a new edge car I'd prefer a 2V. It's just cheaper overall. I'm not talking about going wild I mean bolt ons, suspension and a nice centrifugal making ~425 rwhp.

In stock form the PI 2V's aren't great but it doesn't take much to wake them up.
