Bassani or magnaflow?

Buying new mufflers. Looking for that deep tone, not too much for that raspy sound. Was leaning towards magnaflows. Don't really like flowmasters, sounds like they got asthma. I have never heard bassani's, others have said they sound mean, anyone have them? How do they sound, comprared to magnaflow's, or flowmasters? Also, how much will a catted x-pipe change the sound?

Re: Bassani or magnaflow?

Bassani's are loud...they are a screamy type of loud. If you are looking for deepness...go with the magnapaks. They give you the deeper sound you are looking for.

Don't get me wrong, I spent 6 months trying to decide between my borla's or the bassani's...I love how bassani's sound, but I was like you and looking for a deeper note. The magnapaks sound just like the borla stingers that I have...which have the deeper note you're looking for.

Re: Bassani or magnaflow?

I can say definitely no to FlowMasters, they sound like crap on a 4V motor, if I had it to do over I would go with the MagnaFlow or the Borla’s. I wish I had a 5.0 to put the Flow’s on.

^^^ I agree, bassani's aren't annoying at all...not like the SLP's are.

Re: Bassani or magnaflow?

How much difference is there between the magnapacks and the regular magnaflow cat backs? Think I'm getting the magnapacks, but don't want it obnoxously loud, or overbearing at cruising speeds.

Re: Bassani or magnaflow?

Magnaflows are quiet at idle and normal cruising speeds. They get somewhat loud when you mash the gas, but not much.

Now, this is all based on assuming you have the stock mid pipe with cats. If you don't, then you may want the standard magnaflows with your off road x/h pipe. They will be loud and deep, but not ear piercing like the magnapaks would be with the same offroad pipe.

So, if you plan to ditch your cats, go with the standard maggie. The paks will be loud without cats. If you plan to keep your cats, go with the magnapaks...they will be a nice deep sound.

Re: Bassani or magnaflow?

I have magnapacks with a catted bassani xpipe. It sounds amazing. One of my new co-workers who has the same car just told me after hearing my car, hes about to ditch his flowmasters and get the same setup as me. The setup is a bit expensive but its definitely worth it.
