Arrow Gears...

Ok, as i was reading another post i thought about something.. My car has 3.73's now. So does that mean that my speedo cal. is off? I am actually running faster than what it says???

These were from the other post...

is it a 5 speed or auto? If its a auto and you dont have a chip to clean up the shift points your shifting will be very sloppy

Usually people put their speedcal here: this is where I have mine... probably wont work if you got a 5-speed though not sure

You should be close to accurate with a speedo for 3.73's 4.10's on the other hand will throw you off 10mph easily with a speedo gear.

I would think you would be close to accurate with that speedo gear. Cant say for sure but I am pretty certain your only 1-2mph off

a speedo gear = WAY off.... you are probably looking at 6mph to fast.... get a friend to go the speed limit and you go beside him and see.

when i had my 97 i put a speedo gear in it and with 3.73s i was 6-7 mph to fast.

You can put a speedcal unit it (probably will work for your year just check) and it will correct it 100% just have to pop the old speedo gear back in (stock spec)

He doesnt have to put the old spedo gear back in, just make sure he uses that speedo gear he currently has when he is configuring the speedcal.

6-7 mph? hmmm

true they should have a speedo gear selection on there else its a 10 buck part... and even better you can run just about ANY size wheel/tire you want on the bakc and just recalibrate it in like 5 min....

Pull out a GPS and find out..that's how I did my old car. If you don't have one of those just get a friend to drive beside you at the speed limit and see what yours reads.

well who knows what speedogear they used... just get a friend to go the speedlimit at 45,55,65,35 all of those adn you can see where you are...

an odd getto trick I tried on my 97 since I had no clue of a speedcal at the time was i pulled the clear gauge cover and poped off the speedo needle. got a friend to go 55mph and I stuck it on at 55mph.... it was accurate from 35+ (well i never went past 70~ or so since i cut off at 85 anyway) its just an odd little getto mod.
