Re: tires

If you're wanting good mileage out of them I'd recommend BFG G-force Sports. They come in factory size and wear extremely well. Not the best performance tire but for the price they hook well. I've got over 20k on the set on the front of the Cobra and we have them on the front of Tiff's GT as well.

Re: tires

cooper makes a tire now that looks a lot like the BFG tires and is now used on the Rousch Mustangs. i think you have to order them from the dealers though but i would think it would cost less than a BFG.

Re: tires

Cooper Tires. Don't Give Up A Thing. Ultra-High Performance, Passenger, Light Truck, SUV, Motorsport, Motorcycle and Commercial Tires

click on tires, ultra performance, and then Zeon RS3, i curently have the Zeon ZPT on my car. they work pretty good but i might try the RS3 next time if the price isn't too bad. my dad works for cooper so i can get a pretty good discount.

Re: tires

go to Home - Discount Tire Direct (or is it discounttiresdirect.com.. one of the two) they usually have the best prices and if you ask they will cut you a deal.

you can also go to tirerack

there are tons of tires, I would stay away from kumo~

Re: tires

chances are buying local will cost you a good bit more unless you get free mount/balance

Re: tires

for a 8 wide rim a 245/45/17 or a 255/45/17 are the only choices to go with.

balancing isnt very much, probably 5-10 a tire~

Re: tires

no idea on fuzions, how much are the bfg's online? I am getting a set of 18 inch BFG KDW's for 225 a tire~ so 17s should be WAY cheaper

Re: tires

at that site you guys sent me it was like 130 per tire for g-specs i think they were and he wanted 200 plus tax but he figured in mount and balance and free tire rotations every 6,000 miles which doesn't really matte to me

they sound like cheap tires really i want something that will be good on road and decent at the drag strip so do u think the bfg's would be the best choice for about 130 a tire?

Re: tires

i loved my yokahama avs es100s but they are discontinued...

you are correct though go with a good tire, the wear rating can tell you how many miles to expect, 300 or so wear rating is generally a 30k tire~

its ALL in keeping the air in them right, keeping them rotated, and not to much abuse lol

ordering you wont be beat on price, they generally ship free or its not much, you can haggle with discounttiredirect.com (ive ordered my last set for my wife's car from them)

the only issue is install for me with balance was like 120 bucks (rip off) but I to get free rotations.. for what ever that is wroth (not much)

so all in all if you got those tires for 130 you could probably get them on the car for 520+125~

Re: tires

its all up to you both services are separate~ they have to be balanced before you should drive on them so that usually works best for the shop that mounts them to balance them

Re: tires

Have the shop mount&balance the tires as the fee is "NORMALLY" an inclusive price.

I would go with the BFGs. I have Fusion ZRi's on the front and they are very road noisey.

Yea, you should like the T/A's and I am sure the treadwear will be better for your trip and lifetime expectancy!

I had Cooper Zeon's on my 01 and I liked them. They rode well but I don't have specific tire vs tire comparison experience (the one that were on my 04 were worn almost all the way out for a short time). I'm sure the Zeon's will do great for you.

I say go Coopers
