You should get a tuner to correct the speedo

you need either a speed calibrator or handheld tuner. By driving on 3.73s with stock programmed ratio you car odometer will calculate that you have driven further than you actually had because it will think you have gone 60 rather than 40mph. Your speedometer will also be off like 45mph(on speedometer):35(actual speed) or something similar

Re: I just put in my 3.73 gears

speed calibrator is 100 bucks and a tuner is 380 bucks but the tuner with make your car run even better but not 280 dollars the best thing is to get a custom tune

If you plan to keep adding bolt-ons a tuner will be better just do the math..

Re: I just put in my 3.73 gears

some cars can use a speed cal unit (like dallas speed cal) it just plugs in between the sensors on the transmission and the ecu~ and alters the signal to fix the speedo~ my 01 used one. You will need to check if your specific year can use it. Its easy to install and is much cheaper than a tuner.

A tune is a great thing, but only 99+ can be fixed speedo wise from a tune~ and they are much more expensive so just an alternative to consider.

Re: I just put in my 3.73 gears

I have gotten a free tuner from a shop in town. Thing is I made a choice of telling them their price was to high and they kept jacking my price up when I came to buy stuff. So, in other wordds You can find things for lower price and people to do for less and online, Now I I wont't go back there again for while. I will just go to Holcomb Motorsports which is 2 hous near me. And for the tuner I need to get the usb cable to upgrade my uner its the lower grade peice a **** one available they gave me this shop was NationalSpeed they tried the dirty tricks to get out free, I saw them look at all the tuners they took the cheaper one to give me ********. Hopefully None of them will see this post hahaha
