Re: headers

ure gonna have to either drop the k member or raise the motor a few inches to get the clearance to install the headers, its a tight fit in the engine bay.

Re: headers

You can use just a 2x4 to brace the engine from underneath. Thats what I did on my 01

that is the correct way to do it. Also if you have easy access to a lift. It will make it 100% easier

Re: headers

Before I start kudos for the write up, I hope that cat is happy with BBK.

I really like those big indents on the BBK LT's for the steering shaft clearance. Look close at the picture of step 22 & 23.

Here is a picture of the set of BBK LT headers I received; I can assure you I did not install these headers on my car. BBK said that this does not hinder the performance of the headers, B.S. I sent them back for another set and got the same thing. After the second set and begging for a refund I throw down on a set of Kooks.

Re: headers

^I should of mentioned, I didn't post it as a direct "How-To" but as a general guideline (as with all write ups you may read).

I've only skimmed the article, have not actually done the install but figured there would be a lot of good points and a good general idea of what task you are taking on.

The article is NOT my own work, however it comes from another Mustang Forum, NewYorkMustangs.com, and is the owner's write up.

Re: headers

I know it wasn’t your write up and I would post it also, it is good work. I was just warning folks about what I experienced with BBK LT headers. If you could have seen there headers in person, it is not a pretty sight. I hope anybody would be concerned about some of the head tubes with 50% restriction and being told “oh that does not effect the performance at all”, WTF I got water front property in Arizona for sale. I have a set of BBK pulleys NIB I will not put on my car because of that. For Sale $100.00 + shipping 96/04 4.6 motor.

Re: headers

How do you like your Kooks? Maybe in a year I can save up for them.
