Re: chip or tuner?

Well, I haven't had any dealings with a chip, nor have I dealt with a 96 cobra, but I've heard that SCT tuners work good for them.

SCT tuners offer more benefits than a chip, plus you just have to plug in and switch the tune, compared to the chip which alters the computer directly.

If you do get a tuner, just remember to get custom tunes, don't buy off the shelf tunes, for they suck, and are not personalized for your car.

Re: chip or tuner?

I first Got The JET chip and it worked great "but" now that i'm adding mods "gaers" I'll have to get a tuner If you are planning on adding mod's 1 at a time get a tuner, find out what tuner a area DYNO shop support because for the best tune you'll end up there and they can down load there tunes to your turner

Re: chip or tuner?

if anyone has a jet chip that they're looking to unload after upgrading to a tuner, i'd be interested. i'm not looking to do many mods to the car, just a CAI. feel free to PM me.

Re: chip or tuner?

a hand held tuner is by far better you can update etc etc with out down time, but in the end the tuner/chip is only as good as where it comes from..and off the shelf is trash.
