Question about short headers

I've heard on bolt on GT's shorty headers add almost next to nothing but how much would they help on a supercharged GT? How much HP/TQ (approximately) would they add?

Re: Question about short headers

are these the frpp shorties? i have seen a write up on these headers, they added near 10 with forced induction. the way to go would be long tubes if u can afford them, usually u can find used sets for a decent price.

Re: Question about short headers

My only concern about longtubes is im not sure if I would pass a smog with them. What about mid lengths? Do they produce similar power numbers to longtubes?

Re: Question about short headers

its pretty close as for gains. i assume they check emissions where you are at, you will also have to retain a catted midpipe in order to pass.

Re: Question about short headers

long tubes should pass as you can get a long tube catted pipe but they are quite expensive, do check local laws first though

Re: Question about short headers

IMO if you are gonna buy headers just get the longtubes. I had shorties on my car and they made almost no difference at all. You will more than likely see the most gains with a set of longtubes on a forced induction setup. Most longtubes are 50 state legal as long as you are running cats.
