abs break sensor
for any of the other rookies out there (like me), i just had to replace my right rear abs sensor. it seemed very easy, but threw me for a loop when i saw that the new one came with a 2' electrical lead on it. i figured it'd be a simple bolt on with a 6" cord that snapped in right at the brake. in reality, the electrical cord goes through a couple of clamps, way back through the floor board into the car under the seat. i had no idea what was going on, so i removed the interior quarter panel and the seat only to realize that the seat was a pretty easy thing to take out and the plug was right under it. neat as can be. no reason to remove the plastic side panel, which was a real pain with the plastic body clips tucked way behind the seat back.
if anyone isn't already aware, the seat bottom is held down by two pins. if you feel around under the front lip, you'll catch them right away. if you push on them just a little bit and then pull up on the seat very quickly, it comes right out.
another job that would have taken five minutes if i had only known.
i was impressed when i removed the quarter panel to see that ford had custom moulded speaker boxes in the rear. the speakers are crap, but the boxes are very nice.
