Help with motor mounts

Just bought some polyurethane motor mounts for my 1998 GT, when I looked at the location, what a nightmare. Does anyone have any advice of an easier way to remove the old mounts?

Re: Help with motor mounts

Easiest way I can think of having tried to do it once myself is to just go ahead and drop the K-member. It's not that hard to do, and you will have all the room you need.

I helped another member swap out one of his that went bad and we did it with the k in the car. What a PITA is was trying to get the old out and then the new in. If I ever do another motor mount I will for sure be dropping the k-member to do it.

+1 always consider time vs hassle... sometimes taking extra time to avoid major hassles works wonders on your stress level.

Absolutely. It only added about an hour to the job to drop the k-member...then again, I've had the k-member in and out of my car about 4 times...and other cars 3-4 more times so it's my go to now. lol
