Re: Burn out-traction control?

That's the traction control hard at work...it has abs sensors that monitor the drive wheels. When one is spinning faster than the other one, ignition spark is retarded and the a/f is modulated. If it continues to happen (like when doing a burnout) it starts shutting down cylinders, applies brakes to the lower friction wheel, and give power to the other wheel.

Re: Burn out-traction control?

you turn the traction control off to get the most out of your burnout with it on just like sonicpony03 said it applies brake friction and stops your burnout!

Re: Burn out-traction control?

You had a z06 vette, why'd you get rid of that?

Do you have a V6 or GT? The GT should have a TLock on it making both wheels spin.

If you have a V6 then only one wheel will spin.

There is a way to solve this though which is to get a new rear end and is a very common mod for V6 modders. By getting a TLock for the car you will get power to both wheels. If you really want to do the right thing you can save up a little extra and get an 8.8 rear end and go, with an automatic transmission, 4.10 gears.

Re: Burn out-traction control?

That doesn't make any sense, either way both wheels should spin...the only thing I would say is that your tlok is worn out and needs to be rebuilt. The clutch pack is probably worn out, might have to replace it with some carbon discs like in the cobras.

Re: Burn out-traction control?

If you have a diablo, you can have traction control switched off by default everytime you start the car.

Yea, it's a safety issues that vehicles must instate. TC has to turn back on everytime the vehicle is started. The only way to disable that function is through a tuner such as:
