Surging idle

For some reason my car seems to surge a bit when I come to an idiol used to drop a lil hunt around for a sec and then even out, but tonight it died like three times , I was kinda thinking the tpi sensor ? any other thoughts and if it was the sensor wouldent I have probs at higher rpms , it only does it at and idiol the other thing is when i rev it up it take a few secs to come back to a normal idiol it seems to hold the rpms high for to long.. What do you Think ?
