Clutch cable advice.........

I know this is like the millionth post about this, but here we go anyway!
I've been looking at these for some time now, and it's time to get one! I'm tired of lockouts, and trying to adjust this ****ty stock cable. I'm pretty sure it's about shot.....when I do adjust it, I have one, maybe two teeth left, and in a few days, it auto-adjusts on me again.....and I just really don't feel like crawling under there just to cut-off the reset plate, when I KNOW I'll be replacing the quadrant and cable soon.
I know the firewall adjuster will give more adjustability, and since I doubt I'll ever see the track, would be happy with just the adjustable cable with a quadrant.....or should I go with the cable, quadrant, adjuster kit?
And I've found NOTHING about how you'd actually adjust it without the firewall adjuster....would it still adjust like the stock one?

Re: Clutch cable advice.........

get a quadrent, a firewall adjuster, and a new stock clutch cable. UPR has this stuff (not the stock cable but the rest) and they had a sale that might still be going on.

you want the stock cable... I have the firewall adjuster and double clutch quadrant. You won't be sorry, it's great.

Yes, stay with a stock cable as others have said. Use the firewall adjuster for your adjustments. The adjustable cables are junk and will fail over time.

Re: Clutch cable advice.........

I'm late on all these threads...but yes, stock cable. I'm running a fiore firewall adjuster and triple hook quadrant. Perfect combo for me and no adjustment needed once it's set.

Re: Clutch cable advice.........

yea some stock quadrants will hold an adjustment and some are worn out~ mine usually holds it. Its lost adjustment twice in three years, shifting hard will knock it out of adjustment~ or can.
