Angry really need some help..

ok, here's the situation: when i run around town for awhile & the car is good & up to temp, sometimes it'll buck some at highway speed. never when cold. i get a cel code of 1151, which , if i'm getting it right, is upstream bank 2 o2 sensor. haven't replaced yet. i've heard 2 different things about this. injector is possibly leaking, or it really is the o2 sensor burning out. if it was the o2, wouldn't it buck all the time? i put new o rings on my injectors this year, along with new plugs, wires, & coil packs. no vacuum leaks that i can find. whatever it is doesn't show itself till really warmed up. what is this?? would really appreciate any help, thanks guys..

If it was an injector leaking it would misfire at any temp. If your getting a O2 sensor code it needs to be changed. If your O2 sensors have over 100K mile they need to be replaced anyway.

It could be that as the engine warms so does the exhaust system and when it reaches that high temp it starts to affect the O2 sensor reading. One of the main sensors used to diagnose any engine performance issues are the O2 sensors. If you have sensors that may be giving false reading you can't know for sure what the problem is.

i understand you. just thought that if the o2 was bad it would buck all the time, but i guess the sensor reads heat in the exhaust..it gets burned out with age i guess..

Re: really need some help..

well you have different O2 sensor codes. you have a O2 sensor out of range code. that usually shows that the O2 sensor is clogged with carbon.

And a O2 sensor signal code with means the sensor is cutting out completely.

If you had a injector leaking fuel or vacumn. It would give you a bank 1 or bank 2 lean or rich code.

that's part of the 1151 code-- running lean, that's what the scanner said anyway when autozone read the code. 1150,1151--upstream o2 bank 2.

Ok with those codes. I would replace to O2 sensors and clean the MAF with an approved MAF sensor cleaner. clear the codes drive the car. if problem and CEL light returns. read codes you have and go from there.
