Re: Headers?

Honestly, I would just save your money over getting shortie headers. The gains are pretty minimal and I would put the money towards something else. I'm not so sure the gains would be worth the effort needed to install them anyhow.

But, if you want to go headers, I guess the BBK's wouldnt be a bad route to go.

Re: Headers?

I agree, shorties really aren't worth the money. You're basically buying them for appearance. Longtubes will net you a couple of extra hp and the most sound improvement. I'd say 15hp might be a stretch, but then it all depends on the dyno being used

My only issue about the longtubes in your situation would be the UPR x-pipe. I don't know if they'd fit/line up with that x-pipe nor would the sound change that much. Longtubes and an h-pipe really make the car deep, I'm not sure about an x-pipe and longtubes.

Re: Headers?

If you get anything other than shorties you will need a new mid-pipe. So expect to spend that extra money at the same time.

Also, most collectors are going to be 2.5" which means you will need a 2.5" mid-pipe.

Re: Headers?

Yah pullies will net you a few hp...CAI's good for a couple as well. I've heard mixed reviews on the throttle body. Might as well get a plenum with it too if you do decide to get a new t/b.

What you spend on a t/b and plenum is pretty close to a tuner with custom tunes...which may be more effective power wise.

Re: Headers?

yes ive heard the same too...i was gonna go with taht....u think tuner is better than the t/b cause i do want more power of course...but ive heard that dnt get a tuner if u dont dyno...and dnt use the setup on the tuner or somthign like that...so is it good just getting a tuner without dyno at the momment?

Re: Headers?

the tune they give you won't be horrible in any way its just when you want to make serious horsepower and youve invested alot in the engine thats when you go dyno style

Re: Headers?

Add a 75 TB to your list, and if you enjoy driving your car stick to the stock manifolds they don't leak. The long tubes will keep you under your car more than you want.

Re: Headers?

When it comes to tuner use the one the dyno shop works with. If they use sct the get the xcal 3 livewire isn't any better it just has a screen.
