Can this be done? Or would I have to just man up and get a TR-3650? Also, after doing a little research, it seems the t-45 bolts up as well. I guess if I did go this route I could just switch to that, or change the bellhousing/crossmember/input shaft. Am i on the right path or way off? Btw, I don't know **** about the 4.6 as I'm a v6 owner.
I found a t45 for 250, used of course. I'm looking at right around 1k for engine and tranny, so I don't think it's too bad of a deal. I'm probably looking at another 1k-1500 for labor to install it, correct?
Pull the 3.8 with the trans & drop the 4.6 right back in it's place. Will need the crossmember & driveshaft for the T-45. You will also need several other parts to complete the swap. V8 throttle cable, fuel lines, 4.6 brake booster, engine & computer harness with the computer & matching dash cluster, radiator & fan, midpipe. If you have the tools, time and place to do it, save the labor cost.
