Good RPM to launch at

I just purchased 31 spline Moser axles, 31 spline Terninator differential with carbon clutches, Ford Racing aluminum drive shaft and BBK upper and lower control arms. Still waiting to install as soon as the snow melts! I currently have Nitto 555R'S and I'm wondering what a good safe RPM to launch at is. I don't want to brake my new stuff being a idiot! Would a 4K launch be OK or to much?

Re: Good RPM to launch at

This is a little in the past for me, building a auto now, but I'd start at 3 and see how much you have to slip the clutch. Having 555r's might let you go to 4, or more, don't think you should have to much to worry about, as long as everythings in good shape. On a side note, How do you like the BBK's, and Flowmaster cat back? Ordering BBK tuned length, and back and forth on Magna Flow, Flowmaster, Or Pypes cat back, to go with Trick Flow top end kit.

Re: Good RPM to launch at

you need to launch has hard as you can to get just a tiny bit of wheel spin so you know any more would just have lead to more spin its hard to find that sweet spot as everyone feathers their clutch differently. Start around 2500. Until you get the launch to a 2.1 or better 60ft dont power shift or any of that BS as you are simply wasting your time as if the 60ft sucks.. your run will suck. Every .1 off the 60ft time is .2 off your ET so... 2.5 to a 2.0 60ft is a second

Re: Good RPM to launch at

My best time was a 1.965 60' 1/4 in 13.744 @101.14. That was leaving from idle. What 60' is a Na Mustang capable of under optimal conditions 1.5ish?
