Opinions on ALLDATA!!!

I am new to the whole DIY auto repair, in going to be purchasing some tools and a HAYES and CHILTON manual, in addition to that I was thinking about putting money into ALLDATAdiy.com :: Source of Diagnostic and Repair Information and I was wondering if anyone had any opinions about ALLDATA.

I'm actually wondering about that my self. It seems interesting. I don't want to take the plunge yet.

ALLDATA is very good. It's the same information that the techs atthe dealerships use. There are 2 ways to us it. The DIY is $30 per useage and what the shops have is unlimited use for like $150 per month. If you go to the website and get then number of your local ALLDATA rep.

Re: Opinions on ALLDATA!!!

If you need any diagrams/etc I have access to mitchell on demand at work (same concept as alldata) and sporadically access to Ford's tech info

There may be some delay in getting info back to you (can only access it at work, and only when I have some free time at work), but hey the offer's out there

Re: Opinions on ALLDATA!!!

I am thinking about getting Alldata, if u get alldatadiy go for the 5 yr deal, a lot cheaper in the long run. I used it all of the time at Nascar Tech. Inst. As good as alldata is, it doesn't compare to what the ford dealerships are using. If ford dealerships start hiring I could help out in wiring diagrams as well, along with other stuff.

Yea that's true, I got tired of having mechanics trying to rip me off so I am dedicated to the whole DIY auto repair and im ordering tools, hayes, and chilton manuals, I just heard about ALLDATA online and through a friend and he said it might help especially for a beginner like me but I dont know. That's why I decided to ask how it was.

Re: Opinions on ALLDATA!!!

You can also try searching for a Ford Service Manual. Ford can be hard to find, but perhaps someone here knows a place to find one.
