Fair price for 2003 Cobra

I'm looking at buying a 2003 Cobra Convertible with 27,000 miles on it. It's off AutoTrader in red and located in Michigan. A dealer has it listed for $22,900. I have a MadzaSpeed6 I want to trade in on it and my first offer was $20,000 for the Stang. Anyone buy the same year lately and if so, what did you pay for it?

I would say 20k is a damn good price, but remember its a dealer so do your research.Look for other cobras in that area that are cheaper with that mileage and bring it up in conversation when talking price with them.
There is a 04 dsg term here with 48k on the clock and the dealer wants 21k if that helps any.IMO that is to much for that DSG.

Re: Fair price for 2003 Cobra

27k miles, IF the miles reflect the condition (some are left sitting out side, some are faded, some are beat on etc so low miles does not always reflect condition) but if in really good condition I think 23k is a good price.

As said above svtperformance.com has a huge market place and tons of specific 03 cobra information.

read this for what to look out for on 2003/2004 cobra purchasing

Re: Fair price for 2003 Cobra

That 27k miles and $22.9 price is about the same as most Terminators found in the market at SVTperformance.com

Not a bad price depending on the specific vehicle.

Re: Fair price for 2003 Cobra

That's not a bad price at all for a vert with those miles...if it's a solid car. As said, the condition of the car could be way below your standards...definitely look it over real good...any questions or concerns ask these guys...they know quite a bit about the 03/04 cobras.

rear that FAQ, if any mods check the a/f on the dyno, make sure the heat exchanger pump is working, check plugs for signs of detonation, check rear end for leaking, listen for any ticks on start up or after warm, check for smoke on start up (sign of valve seal leaking) or to much oil in bypass, etc

Re: Fair price for 2003 Cobra

One good thing about SVTperformance.com is that the guys love their Terms so much that they are willing to go look and test drive them for you. I had a guy pm me because he saw my post about lookin to buy a black Term in Dallas,he offered to test drive it for me.He then said it was in better condition then his.I also found the guy that traded it in on Facebook and he answered every question about it and I talked to the guys that tuned and modded it.

I also threw a link up to a Mystichrome in Flordia that was at a dealership and a guy from the dealer who worked on it and was a cobra owner PMed me and said stay away from it because it had alot of track passes and was beat on from day one.Funny thing was he convinced the General sales manager that if he swapped his stock eaton for the whipple on the Mystichrome that he could get it to pass inspection. Can you say,"free whipple" lol!

Anyway, go to the site throw up a thread with a link to whatever Cobra you are interested in and ask if anyone is in this area and knows anything about the car.

Good luck!
