What Rpm with 3.73 gears at 80 mph?

I have and 03 GT 5 sp. convertable. I am thinking about going to 3.73 gears or 4.10. I do some highway driving and don't want to kill all the gas milage.
With the stock gears I am turning around 2100 to 2200 at 80 mph and would like to know what others are seeing with 3.73 and 4.10 gears at 80.
Thanks for the help.

no way.

on my GT, with stock 3.23 in 5th gear im at 2,000rpm@80mph.

with 3.73's and the same rear tire circumfrence, it will be around 2400rpm@80.

4.1's would put you at 2800rpm@80mph.

if you do 50/50 city/hwy you wont hurt the milage much at all, you will pick up a bit in town probably.

You must have lower (3.08's or 2.73's) in your car. I'm running stock 3.08's in my automatic and it turns 2000rpm at 70 mph. That's with stock BFG tires and 18" wheels so with 3.73 gears it should turn about 2250rpm at 70. Other than changing gears the only way I know to get real close is to determine exactly what gears are in the car now, what the final drive ratio in the transmission is, and what the circumference of the rear tires is and then spec it out

my car on the stock wheels and tires turned about 2400 in 5th at 70 with 3.73. With the 3.27 gear it turned around 2000 in 5th

3.55's in my 05 run about 2250-2300 rpm between 70 and 80...I would expect 2400-2500 with 3.73's, and like 2700-2800 with 4.10's...

you have to know the tranny gear as well as the rear end and tire size to do the math, its a percentage not a constant.

if ur going to do 80 on the roads most people dont care about the price they will pay for mpg.... i would be more worried about the $200 + fine u will get for speeding. btw i am at about 2200 rpm in the explorer @ 70mph.. in the mustang @ 70mph is about 1800 rpm
