cobra spoiler

looking to get a cobra spoiler.

is this attached to the trunk( meaning i'd need to get the whole trunk lid?) I'm having trouble finding just a cobra spoiler. Anyone know about this or getting one? I have seen a GT mustang with a cobra spoiler though, so I know someone has already done this

Re: cobra spoiler

You can use your stock decklid for the cobra ducktail spoiler.

You'll need to remove the stock spoiler, plug the holes with some nylon plugs or something unnoticeable (paint them of course), and drill holes (2 of the holes on the top of the decklid will be used, so you'll have to drill 2 on the back side of the decklid).

The stock 3rd brake light will have to be removed, and separate/new harness will have to be used for the cobra brake light. I believe it is LED, not bulbs. It's not a difficult install, but expensive since the wiring harness and spoiler itself are fairly pricey.

You could look for used painted spoilers on craigslist or other mustang forums. Try svtperformance.com, someone might be selling one there.

Re: cobra spoiler

ebay has them usually 400 bucks or so~ he 3rd brake light is well known to break so make sure its all in one piece (150 bucks to replace) and when you install it dont over tighten those screws that hold it in)

it uses new holes or just the back holes (not sure) so if you have existing holds the front most wont be covered.

Re: cobra spoiler

I don't know but 2003/2004 Cobra parts are very expensive. The hood alone is 800 bucks (OEM). Have you checked craigslist?

But I will keep my eye open for you for a cheaper one.

Re: cobra spoiler

Yah they are hard to come by...most cobra owners leave that spoiler on since it looks so badass (and has the 3rd brake light built in). Might want to check some mustang salvage yards and get some prices...might get lucky and find one in black.

Here's a light writeup on the spoiler with a handful of pics if you need it:

Re: cobra spoiler

the spoilers are generally 400 bucks~ or more. They pop up now and again on ebay just keep an eye out. ABC Exclusive or what ever they are makes a look alike~

Re: cobra spoiler

looks like some aftermarket or look alikes can be found cheaply like 200ish but I just found on CL for 400 OEM new from ford (just primed) and the guy is giving me the trunklid he was going to mount it on. Not bad I guess, I still need a third break light though! Lmk if anyone finds one for cheap! LRS has it for 175 :S

Re: cobra spoiler

I messaged Tousley Ford to see if they have it because they don't seem to have it listed. But when I find out I will post the news.

Re: cobra spoiler

They really are. I couldn't find an 03/04 TB Cable anywhere but they had it in stock for 24.99. Also, their customer service is great.

Re: cobra spoiler

Ok so I checked my message box and Tousley Ford has the part for $126.98 and $10 shipping. The part number is 2r3z-13a613-aa.

19Delta may I ask what was $24.99?

Re: cobra spoiler

Venom hit the nail on the head. It took a little while on the shipping, but their service is great and the prices aren't too bad.

Re: cobra spoiler

I used to use tousley all the time...however, now I have a hook up local that has the same pricing levels. The only difference is I save on shipping costs...but instead have to pay tax. So, if it's a real pricey item, I'll go through tousley...otherwise I'll go through DarkShadows.
