Re: Cams

plan ahead of time to get tuned if you go for cams.. and expect install costs to be around 7-8 hours labor if not more.. depending on the shop

Re: Cams

Re: Cams

the good thing about paying a shop to do it is liability though... if something goes wrong they will cover it, on your end you are liable for it. (sure you have to sue some companies to get your money this is why you keep a VERY detailed record of all accounts and such information in writing not just word of mouth)

+1.

From the sounds of most installs, DIY cams on a Modular are PITA, and IMO, id rather spend the 200-300$ for install by a reputable stang shop and know its done right and it will start up without a hitch when i go to turn the key.

Re: Cams

VT engines have a nice rep and that is where I am going but I would plan on 1500 dollars for the cams and install. To get cams that will give the power and sound I wanted I have to get the cams, new springs and I am going to chnage the chains and tensioners while I am in there plus the labor to put them in. I am hoping that my predator will handle the changes and I won't have to pay for a tune.
