power Problems

I have a serious problem. I have a 04 gt with edelbrock intake manifold, mmr sheetmetal upper, 75mm TB, Full Exhaust LTS ETC....410 gears, Vortech V! S-Trim w/ 3.33 pulley, 3 core front Mount intercooler, no name BOV, sct 90mm MAF, 42lb injectors, 255 pump, KB BAB. This car will only put down 350RWHP 334RWTQ. AF ration was 11.5 and timing was 17degrees, My tuner and I cannot figure out what the hell is going on, its making 10psi at 6200RPM but those numbers are horribly low for the mods. We did a compression check and all looked good. If you have any idea on what the hell is going on I would much appreciate it. Thanks

Re: power Problems

The tuner I have is good man. He tunes many mustangs. He was so pissed about the result and the fact that he couldnt figure out what the problem is he didnt even charge me and we worked on it from 730 am to 400pm that night.

Re: power Problems

odd, does it feel like only 350rwhp? It could be the dyno (I doubt it but its best to rule out anything like that)

Re: power Problems

you think maybe the guy who owned the car before you blew the motor, and wasnt so bright, and put a NON-PI motor in it?

Re: power Problems

Impossible because some of the parts I have will not fit or work on the non pi motor. Like the long tubes and the intake manifold, etc.

Re: power Problems

Ok so... I think I may have found a problem. I never run my ac on my car so we will start with that. A few weeks ago I was waiting on someone in the parking lot so I turned the ac on and sat there for 10min tops and the car started shaking and **** so i turned it off and saw nothing wrong. I took off down the road and it felt like it was down 4 cylinders, studdering and **** real bad, i turned ac off and drove about 2 miles and it stopped so i thought bad gas or air in the line or something. Today it happened again, this time I paid attention to my wideband and it was going crazy, at one point it sat at 16.0 for like 5 min. I popped the hood and saw a small piss stream of antifreeze coming from the raidator right behind the fill cap. Its a small hole but it stops leaking and you would never know that its there. The car is running fine again now but now I really wanna leak test this sum ***** and see what the **** is going on. my boost gauge was reading 0 as well when all this is going on, usually it shows 20 vac at idle.

Re: power Problems

That's about 100hp over stock right? Wouldn't that be about right for that vortech?

Re: power Problems

For about 8psi. They make anywhere from 385 to 415rwhp with my mods depending on the day at 10psi. It would be right if the car had no other mods.

Re: power Problems

I'd run your stock plastic intake manifold and see what happens. On my NA Gt I lost 10rwhp and 40 ft-lbs by installing a Pro Products intake. The guy running the dyno told me it was going to happen before we even strapped down the car. He said nothing beats the plastic one unless your running nitrous.

Re: power Problems

I know this sounds crazy but you are loosing boost somewhere or your intake is making the air dirty. Can you post a link of you intake I would like to see it.

ditto, you can't get a smoother airflow unless your intake is polished *completely*.
