Help with spark timing

Hopefully somebody can answer this. I have a 99 GT complete bolt ons pulleys, cai, t/b, plenum, 3.73 gears and also have a stage II head work done. I have the computer programmed with the SCT 93 octane tune. Im thinking of playing with the spark timing a little bit more. How many degrees do you think I could add into the spark timing (over the added spark from the SCT tune) without hurting the motor? Or should I just keep going a degree at a time until I start to hear a little spark knock? Thanks guys Jimmy

Re: Help with spark timing

you cant always hear detonation, install cheap copper plugs and set a timing, drive it, and inspect the plugs for poping spots etc (signs of detonation) as well as listen for it.

I would recommend letting someone tune the car vs trial/error as the end result will be better and safer.
