I wouldnt mind droping my cats or going with high flow (or better yet long tubes) but... there is very little gain overall and it will be WAY to loud.

WITHOUT THE CATS IT WILL BE A BIT LOUDER....GOING FROM H TO X PIPE, THE X IS SUPPOSED TO BE BETTER THAN H AND MAKE 5-10HP MORE THAN H, BUT THAT DEPENDS IF MORE ON YOUR MOTOR SET-UP IF IT CAN TAKE ADVANTAGE OF THE AIRFLOW....THE ONLY THING ABOUT SIDE EXIT EXHAUST IS THAT THE FUMES HAVE A TENDACY TO ROLL INTO THE CABIN OF THE CAR AT IDLE WITH THE WINDOWS DOWN...GOD FORBID U RUN A HIGH LIFT CAM THAT RUNS SUPER RICH AT IDLE:done: ......I HAD A 95 WIT DA SIDE EXHAUST BUILT INTO THE BODY KIT.....LOOKED GOOD, SOUNDED GOOD, KEEP DA WINDOWS UP!!!!...LOL.......HOWEVER, U WILL LOVE DAT SPINTECH SOUND!!!!!I HAVE BBK OFF-ROAD X AND MAC CAT BACK....TWICE AS LOUD AS MY FLOWMASTER 40 WIT CATS....MAKES A BIT MORE TORQUE FOR SHO!!!!...OVERAL I THINK U WILL LOKE YOUR NEW SET-UP THOUGH

Offroad will be hella loud with your stingers...at least that I what I "think".

Your best bet would be to go with the MRT catted H-Pipe...it has a great deep sound to it.

Or, if you decide on long tubes, go with stainless works and get their long tubes (beautiful pieces I must say) and their catted X-Pipe. It will be louder than your current setup though...they also have the complete header back setup, but I don't know how their catback sounds.

i keep the stocker in case a smog hookup is un-available.

but you know what, **** the law. i am not going to let some beureaucrat tell me what i can and cannot do to MY vehicle that I pay for, that I pay for insurance on, that MY taxes pay for the roads, just cause he let some ****ing treehuggin hippie get in his mind.

long term goals ARE turbo'in the GT with a built mod5.0, short term is getting the little things out of the way that make the car funner for the short term until all is ready to get the long term in. so what, ****ing reff me and fine me for no cats, ill pay the fine, return to stock, sign it all off (but the fine) and stick it all back on. gotta pay to play the game, is how i look at it.

Yes, I am a tree hugger...just look at my sig, it will be obvious. :yank:

I suggested cats to spector because I know his taste based on when he was asking cat back opinions long before you arrived. He doesn't want nascar loud...so offroad would not be the way for him to go.

2 blocks? Hell, my car is audible for miles. The house always knows when I am coming once I turn on the main drag with is about 5 miles away. They listen as it gets louder the closer I get. So don't think your 2 blocks is a big deal.

Re: X-Pipe ordered

holy **** that sucked major ***.

had to buy a set of swivel head extensions and a nut extractor kit for the pass side lower bolt. but the rest went pretty smooth.

though i dont know if i like the tone it produces now. the tone sounds awesome, but now that theres no cats, you can hear this low end sound as well, like the motor is struggling to breathe (its only there at low rpm's in a low gear and you try to get on it, like 5th gear at 70mph) that sounds like ***, but if youre in the right gear and get on it it sounds pretty sweet. im gonna look into getting the same x-pipe piece (since the kit was 3 pieces, the X and the two downtubes) in a h-pipe, so i can swap it out pretty easy.

oh and now my side tips are all screwed up, one is sticking out hella far and to the rear, one is touching the body. i had to step on the one side to get it off the body and bend it, ill have to find a buddy with a welder and get them re-adjusted.

only in the garage, anywhere else you cant really tell.

though now i have a CEL, im thinking there might be a leak between the manifold and downtube bolts pre-front o2 thats setting it off since the downstream o2 elims are installed.

Yeah like Thomas said it isn't too bad. But you will want to cut your car off when putting air in your rear tires.

Re: X-Pipe ordered

plus after working with fiberglass and **** like that, a little exhaust fume doesnt even measure on the sniffer scale. unless youre dumb and turn on your car in the garage with the doors closed, youd be dead pretty quick like.

lol nah. we have proof i was dropped on my head as a kid, couple years back i woke up and just could not move my neck, and went to the chiropractor who said i had compressive neck injuries that probably happened at a very young age, and the body can only do so much before one day it just takes a strange movement to re-irritate it and bring it back. compressive meaning my head was forced down into my shoulders.

though its prolly from the many times i jumped into the pool head first in the shallow end, but its still cool to say i have proof i was dropped on my head.
