Cobra R or Cobra???

I'm trying to decide which wing i should get. I have a few people saying i shouldn't get the cobra r because its too big, they prefer the cobra wing. I just want a few opinions to make my decision easier.

It's your car...but the cobra R wing is quite large.

Have you looked at the steeda or saleen wings? Both of those are stylish and different.

Re: Cobra R or Cobra???

is this going to be a street car or a race car/track car?

If its going to be a street car with little to no track time Id say 2003/2004 Cobra rear spoiler.

If its a track car that needs extra down force in the turns Id say Cobra R.

I think the Cobra R looks out of place on a street car IMO and the overall better one is the 2003/2004 Cobra spoiler. But its your Mustang and you may do what pleases you.

Really "If its a track car that needs extra down force in the turns Id say Cobra R."? How fast does one have to be going for that wing to function like that?

The whole reason the Cobra R has that front spoiler and huge rear spoiler is for down force at the track. Kind of like the 1969 Dodge Daytona Hemi, that big wing it had was for down force at the track so it can go fast in the turns and to stay planted on the track.

It helps racers to keep their speed in the turn they are going through or to achieve maximum MPH in a straight line.

Re: Cobra R or Cobra???

yea but i highly doubt the average mustang owner need a spoiler like that so keep his car on the track.

i agree, leave the cobra r wing to the cobra r's. it would look rediculous on a street car, but hey to each his own i guess.

Re: Cobra R or Cobra???

even if I had a cobra R I would want to change the rear spoiler, it just reminds me of the ricer cars, whoever decided to have that wing put on that car has quite a bit of pull at fomoco and drives a ricer car.

Re: Cobra R or Cobra???

Yah after seeing a black GT with the cobra R hood and spoiler today, I'd have to agree with everyone and go with either an 03/04 cobra ducktail spoiler or another brand/type.

They really look out of place imo and are quite large...however if you want a nice bench to sit on when watching a drive-in movie then it'd be perfect

Keep in mind that the 03/04 cobra spoilers are quite expensive new, and are hard to find used these days...the steeda and saleen spoilers don't look too bad, and they aren't horribly expensive.

the 00 cobra r is tacky, if you want attention and dont care if its positive or negative attention then thats your wing.

for those of you that are going to go the clone route, START by getting one with a 6-speed T-56 trans and not a automatic

Re: Cobra R or Cobra???

there are so many things on a real cobra its VERY hard to fake one... and I honestly dont know why you would when it would be cheaper to buy one than attempt to make one... unless you care only about looks and fooling people that dont know any better to begin wtih.

Definitely a Cobra one. I like the Ducktail spoiler. Thought about ordering one for mine eventually but they are a little pricey, eh?

Not to mention a 5.4L DOHC V8, lol. I've seen a couple online that copied the exterior right down to the very last detail, same performance red too, then they pop the hood and you're staring at a 4.6L 2v

Just a little...MPS Auto Salvage recently got a SB Cobra coupe in...they might have the spoiler still...though the spoiler, the mirrors, rockers and side scoops don't last long.

yeah, it would be hard to pass one on someone that knows about them but for someone that knows nothing about them would be pretty easy, like sonicpony03 points out the 5.4L DOHC V8, totally slipped my mind!

Yah MPS posted the SB Cobra a little while ago, it's still considered a new product. They posted the rear decklid under available parts
