Re: Will these even work?(spark plugs)

yeah i usually do too, but they had only 6 ngk's, IMO most of the auto stores are always "two plugs short of a full tuneup"

Re: Will these even work?(spark plugs)

the ones that came out of the car are motorcraft AWSF 32PM's and they have ~6 threads, the replacement Bosch HR9DPY have ~10 threads.

perhaps they are correct?

Re: Will these even work?(spark plugs)

hmm well i installed them, now the idle is really "defined" i can hear each individual pulse through the exhaust, and its really "choppy" feeling between 1-2k when accelerating, and it feels really slow. im wondering if this is how the car is supposed to feel and ive been jipped?

im gonna drive it to work tomorrow and if it feels the same im gonna put the other ones back in and see if those make it better, if they do, ill scrap these bosch and find some NGK TR6's.

Re: Will these even work?(spark plugs)

could be a severely wrong heat range, coil might not be pressed on all the way, etc.. If your car ran better before than it does now, I really doubt that's how the car was supposed to act... mine always felt slow but it was never choppy...

Re: Will these even work?(spark plugs)

its sad that there is such a difference, i mean, people actually use bosch in cars and think they are good? its amazing such a garbage product can even be sold, i mean hell, i have a v8 and even i felt a major loss of power, i could only imagine what these would have done in the girls vw bug or the like, wouldve been even more gutless than it is.

from now on, the 1 hour it takes to hunt down the proper plugs will be the only option.

If you look at where the seat on the plug is they are in the same place so you wont have a problem with them except they are junk plugs

Re: Will these even work?(spark plugs)

Did you find out if they would fit? I would've just looked up the numbers on advanced auto or autozone website to see which bosch's fit the car and compare it too what was on the spark plugs. I ran Bosch Plat. 2's on my old car it ran pretty good. Never run Bosch Plat 4's though unless you have a highly modded engine cause they'll heat up too quick and burn!

Re: Will these even work?(spark plugs)

not sure which plugs the 4-6ers like the most, but for 3.8's and 5.0's regular old copper autolights are the best, ask your turner. they'll tell you.

I will attest to that. Ran Plat 4's when I only had a CAI, car ran fine for like 1-2 thousand miles then started missing and had no real power. I replaced the Bosch's with Motorcraft and haven't had a problem since.

lol my neighbors last name is turner, and he knew nothing. and i am my own tuner, at least when it came to the dsm, the most you can do with the handhelds on a stang is childsplay, unless i got the sct livewire or whatever its called but being stock theres no reason to.

but i got a set of NGK TR60 and they worked flawlessly. like ive said before, its sad how the brand of plug can make such a difference, i used to think a plug is a plug, then i got the dsm and knew that wasnt the case but thats cause when youre running 20psi you need a certain plug, and figured stock mustang, no need to spend much on plugs, but i was wrong.

You don't need to spend much on plugs. Just dont buy Bosch because they are junk.

Autolites or Motorcraft are both extremely cheap.
