I tried to turbocharge...

These are pics from a turbo project we were working on. My former room mate is the best mechanic I've ever known and we started this project in June. We had all the exhaust plumbing done in a day and a half and were about to start work on the fuel system and intake plumbing. The only reason it isn't finished is because we started it the week I moved(I didn't know I was moving), so we had to scrap the project for the time being. I still have this turbo plus 2 other smaller turbochargers and all accessories. I just lack the tools at my current house

Re: I tried to turbocharge...

We fabricated the exhaust using steel go kart frame piping from the plant we worked at. I cut the collectors off of my original midpipe so we could retain my BBK headers and I wouldn't have to cut my aftermarket H-pipe. He did all the welding while I did all the sizing and cutting for the pipes. The idea came from the 4.6L stage 1 kit sold by Ponydown Performance. Had I not moved, it would have been completed and tuned within the next week(we work fast).

Re: I tried to turbocharge...

if your friend can manuf the kits in good quality, on time, and all that he would have a good business as there is currently no v6 turbo manuf out there. TMA stoped doing it.

I would recommend flipping the headers around though in a new version

Re: I tried to turbocharge...

We tried to get a guy we worked with to let his V6 be our guinea pig for a V6 turbo kit, but he declined as it was his DD. He did fabricate a custom intake plenum for an M112 for his fox, which had the H.O. engine. Another of our friends had a '92 GT, which had the symmetrical headers, so he flipped them around for a TT setup(that was a beast). Most of my friends own Mustangs lol.. The problem with the headers on my GT is the fact they aren't symmetrical so there's no way to flip them over.
