On a GT it is eaither 75 mm or 80 mm...don't remember exactly.

Was your car a true saleen or is it a faleen? Also, was your supercharged stock or was that added later in life? It might make a difference if it is a real stock SC Saleen....

Yes my car is a TRUE Saleen, production #99-0232. The car was supercharged stock straight from Saleen. NOTHING has been changed on the car since it was in Saleen's factory. I bought it from the original owner and he said that he did not upgrade anything.

Re: MAF housing???

I know what you mean! My car is 100% ligit. Has the Saleen plaque on the firewall and all to prove it. Hell, I even found a Saleen plaque in a place I didn't even realize there was one. I pulled the interior panel off to look at where the computer harness was and there was a Saleen calibration plaque/sticker on the inside. Even the serpentine belt is Saleen. I get sick of all the fakes too. Save your money and buy the real thing!

Re: MAF housing???

But when you spend 17ish on the car, almost 2 grand on the wheels, a few thousand on the blower setup, few more hundres for exhaust, you could have bought a used one for about the same price.

Besides, I don't see why you would want to fake having a real one anyway. I would make mine look like one, but I'll be damned if I put badges, numbers, stitching, gauges, etc. and call it one.

Sorry bout that. Stock MAF should be about an 80. I know the Lightnings are 90 though. Why do you need to know?

Because, if he has a 90 like I know the 03/04 SC saleens do, then I will sell him my CAI kit...if it isn't a 90, then mine won't fit.

Re: MAF housing???

Um...that didn't really answer the question did it? He has a stock supercharged saleen...it might have a bigger than stock GT MAF.

My suggestion, go measure it....if it is over 80 mm internal diameter, then it is a 90...otherwise, it is an 80.

Re: MAF housing???

Ok you're both right but I have another question. I'm VERY rusty on all this as I haven't owned a stang in over 10 years so I may sound a little "dumb" to some of this and will readily admit it. My question is...where exactly is it on the housing that I need to measure to find out FOR SURE???

laugh and snicker all you want...

As for my car being a TRUE Saleen, below is a pm exchange I had with a mod on saleen.net the official Saleen forum/owner's site:

USMCSS wrote:
Hi, my name is Chris and I'm new to the site. I see you have access or knowledge as to finding the original owners of Saleens. I have recently purchased 99-0232 and was wondering if you could check the background on it for me. Thank you!

Reply:
99-0232 was shipped 06/26/1999.
The first and only listed owner was Keith XXXXX in Florida.
Options:
Supercharger, guage pod, 3.08:1 gears (Standard on the '99 S/C), tire upgrade / 10" wheels, floor mats, Speedster, Chrome Wheels and a black top.

Contact Team Saleen to have your name added to the registry and for a production document on your vehicle. Have your complete Ford VIN and Saleen number handy.

Enjoy,
Dave

I purchased the car from the above listed guy "Keith" in Tampa, FL. I left his last name out for privacy.
