Mach 460 Amp question

I have a 2003 Gt 'vert. I'm not getting any base out of the system. The rear soeakers seem to be wroking, but they've lost their thump. I checked all the fuses related to the radio and they are all OK. I suspect the Amps are shot. Can it be anything else?

Re: Mach 460 Amp question

did you have an after market setup, back in the day at least when installing new speakers and such they would have to bypass the stock amps~ if its all factory then a fuse or something could be to blame, but It would be more than likely that the speakers wouldnt work at all if the amp was not working right?

Re: Mach 460 Amp question

It's all stock. I checked all fuses and connectors and everything seems to be OK. Thats what's confusing me. the speakers still work, but no bass.

I suspect the amps are gone because of the brilliant positioning of the amps in the convertible top's boot I just started to get water in from around the rear window. I suspect the amps got wet. that';s why I checked the fuses first.

Re: Mach 460 Amp question

Mine is a 94 but I have the mach 460 setup, my stereo did the same thing and it wasn't the amps it was the head unit itself, installed a new cd player and everything worked fine.

Re: Mach 460 Amp question

hmm.. Interesting. I turned the unit on and put a cd in and the amps seemed to work. So it's just the radio. Is that possible??

Re: Mach 460 Amp question

Check for lose wiring. The Mach System is a great factory audio setup and I was very upset when I found custom work on my 04 Cobra thus eliminating the function of the stock Mach sound System.

Re: Mach 460 Amp question

I checked the wiring at the apms and they were all good and tight. Speakers are OK, because the all work. What's left?

Is tgere anything behind the head unit I should check?

Re: Mach 460 Amp question

Go to a scrap yard and find a mustang with the same radio and change it if you want it to be stock.
