If I remember correctly it is spring loaded onto the mounting clip, you just disconnect this...

Give me a second and I'll find a diagram somewhere.

Re: new owner with brake questions

is it the big coiled spring that puts the pressure on the lever? that the cable sits in?

If it wasn't dark I'd go outside right now and look...as a matter of fact, give me a few minutes, I'll see if my fat head will fit under my car and make sure I remember right.

Re: new owner with brake questions

Ok, after looking at it again.

1.Make sure you have the parking brake off.

2. Get a pair of good sized pliers.

3. Grab ahold of the end of the parking brake cable (the metal tip)

4. Pull towards the rear of the car and out of the lever.

5. Watch out because I've had the pliers hit me a few times doing this.

*Disclaimer* I don't know that this is the "proper" way to do this...but it has always worked for me.

Re: new owner with brake questions

ok i will try that i thought that may be it so much rust was the salty air at the beach in bradenton seemed to really work on the exhaust system too all i want now is to be able to drive it monday to the shop
and to install tha cable back in the lever pull it back out and slide it into the slot ? sounds simple enough i saw in the manual about not letting the adjuster? whell unwind on the consule i didnt think that would happen since i am not emoving any cables im too old for this anymore , done restoring cars just want to drive them *S* thanks
