Bullitts or Ponies

My car now has the 5 star ponies which I bought from ebay for a whopping $71 but had to go to Tampa to pick them up. Well being jobless I was due for a vacation. I took off the Anthracite bullitts because I always liked the 5 star but think I made a mistake. I still have the bullitts and am slowly cleaning them, I was wondering what members here liked better. Both sets are OEM

Re: Bullitts or Ponies

I always considered Pony rims to be the ones on the early 90's foxbody GT's,

but I am going to throw up a vote for the original New Edge GT wheels, I always thought they looked pretty good.

bullits all the way gives it more of a muscle look but if you want to throw some mean looking 5 star get some junkyard dogs they come in 18 19 and 20

if i have to pick between the 2, bullitts. i think the others are too plain looking. why not sell both sets of wheels & get something different? just my opinion....

Re: Bullitts or Ponies

can't say i blame your purchase. gotta grab deals where you can, & you def. gotta good deal. columbus is in the southern most end of the state. better keep your stang from the harsh winters they have. my grandpas old f150 is a rust bucket now.

It just seems everyone with a Mustang has bullitts, they're the new 95 Cobra R's.

Yeh...on a bullitt lol.

For some reason, your bullitt pulls them off, but damn near every other Mustang I've seen running them doesn't look right.

Re: Bullitts or Ponies

eh, the bullitts look better IMO, but they are getting a bit too common for me - hence the reason my car doesnt have a set of em. I passed up a set before I bought my 96 Cobras. if you go bullitts, paint em black! ive started warming up to that these days, after seeing a few sets on cars. If you paint em black, make sure that you paint your calipers with some contrast - blue, red, orange, bronze, silver, etc., to set it off. Id also paint the hats on the rotors as well, but id probably paint em black.

If you do decide to go with the ponies, i recommend a powerdercoat too.. I dont think i would powdercoat the whole wheel... I might would just PC the outside of the spoke, and leave the center silver, just to be a bit different. I suck with photoshop, but if someone could photoshop or find pics of both combos, im sure it'd help him.

Is the car lowered at all?
