Re: Bleeding Brakes?

How did you bleed the brakes?

And did the reservoir ever get empty?

Re: Bleeding Brakes?

Yea if you didnt start with the caliper farthest from the MC than youll have air in the lines.

Re: Bleeding Brakes?

bleed it at the master cylinder.

are you using the vacuum hose/water bottle method? stick about 3' vacuum hose on the end of the shrader valve (make sure it fits on the valve nipple tight) and stick the other end in a crystal geyser bottle with brake fluid in it (or other bottle of your choice, hell even the brake fluid bottle works), open the valve and pump the brakes. air will be released into the bottle but when it sucks back in, only brake fluid gets pulled in.

if enough fluid came out of the lines while they are off, chances are air worked its way through the system. do the same as above but from the master cylinder valves.

Did you take the reservoir cap off the master cylinder when you were bleeding the brakes? And you do have ABS correct?

Cause if you dont take the reservoir cap off when you bleed brakes with ABS it can mess up your master cylinder.

Re: Bleeding Brakes?

Yeah, I know about ruining a master cylinder from personal experience. I was 16, changing the brakes on car for the first time ever. Pop, hey, now i have to pay 150 bucks to get someone to replace my master cylinder cause i dont have the time to do it myself while im in school and working.
