2004mach 1 vs 2000 z28

I was wondering if me smokeing this z28 was a fluke or not. i was at a light and some guy pulls up next to me with his camaro and he looks at me revs his engine sound like he had a cat back. so i was like screw it. light turns green and we both took off then i then next thing i know iam walking him easy.. kinda seem strange from an Ls1

Just be glad it wasn't modified...those cars really wake up with bolt-ons. Then again...so does yours.

Re: 2004mach 1 vs 2000 z28

Yah if you claimed to do this with a GT with exhaust I'd call b.s., but a Mach 1 is a very respectable car...they can handle a Z28 pretty well as long as the driver mod is in place

No fluke imo, good kill. +1 on the taller gears suggestion.

Re: 2004mach 1 vs 2000 z28

I have my doubts. They have similar power and the mustang would've had a torque deficit.

The street is a terrible way to judge performance. You never know what the other driver did or if he lifted, how hard he launched. Perhaps you caught him sleeping, maybe he didn't know you were gonna hit it.

People always rev their engines at me but then they don't hit it. I try not to race on the street. It's too easy to hit 100mph and if I get caught I don't want to lose my license. Street racing is a ticket you don't want trust me.

Good for you on the win! Either way if he screwed up It's his problem. I've crushed late 90's SS's with my GT still waiting for my chance with the newer ones!

Gent's, forgive me for asking a possible dumb question, but what is a "driver mod" and a "negative driver mod"? ....Bolt on's?

No not a dumb question...when we say driver mod we mean someone who can actually shift/drive the car in a race or on the strip. I've seen tons of videos (mustangs included) where the faster car should not have lost but did simply to a terrible driver.

driver mod = currently has or in most cases needs a decent driver that can actually drive

negative driver mod = needs a dumbass who doesn't know 2 comes after 1.

Good E.T. but I'm sure you can get it into the 13.10s. I watched a couple automatics both(literally two sep. cars) run 13.11 on the same day about two months after they came out.
