Re: dohc starter please help

man! i've been doing the same thing but on a 05 f150 5.4L. Its a pain in the butt, but i used a long extention and swivel socket to reach the bolts, also mine was on a lift witch made it easier. I also have a wrench that i heated up and bent into a "u" to reach the top bolt on a crown vic.

A DOHC 2000 roush? Those didn't exist to my knowledge...

If it is truly a 4v, does it have 2 or 3 bolts on the starter? If it's a 3 bolt starter you will need about 4 feet of extensions to get to the 3rd bolt, otherwise the other two come out pretty easy. I never put the 3rd bolt back in mine to save myself the work.

Re: dohc starter please help

I never put my third one back in either. And it took a number of extensions and a swivel or two for me to get it out. And a lot of f bombs when the socket would come off the bolt.
