Re: what would sound better on my mustang?

put on some straight though mufflers like pypes or magnaflow along with any off road midpipe and it will be a hellraiser.

Re: what would sound better on my mustang?

I am a magnaflow person and even without the x-pipe that gives that classy muscle car sound that brings my stang to life. When i add the x-pipe it would be the essense of true grit sound that makes ricers trimble in the imports.

SpectorV is right! I have Borla system, cat-less, with Basanni X-pipe. Sounds amazing but is so loud on the highway. You have to almost yell to have the passenger here you.

But if you want it louder, X-pipe is your best move. If it still is not loud enough for ya. Go without cats.

I run jr shorty headers with flowmaster american thunder no cats. I know what you mean. I get a weird metalic noise, almost vibration like at powerband 5500 - 6000rpm. Its not raspy though, and I've checked clamps and bushings... any ideas? Its only audible in the car.

Re: what would sound better on my mustang?

Yah if you really want noticeable loudness at idle and insane loudness when accelerating and firing the car up...go catless. I've always been partial to o/r h-pipes when using flowmaster, borla and magnaflow magnapack systems/mufflers. But x-pipes do sound pretty sick on v8's too. Really you can't go wrong with mufflers/midpipes on the v8's.

I would do SLP loudmouths, they give it that sound that makes you want to jump out of your seat

Im partial to the borlas and o/r x pipe on the v8's. Imo, if you have the money, nothing beats that sound

+1 Borlas do sound pretty ****in good on all the v8's. They're deep as hell with an o/r h-pipe and just nasty with the o/r x. Pricey, but you definitely wouldn't regret it.

Do a full bassani system. O/r X-pipe with cat backs. Nothing beats it. Flowmasters are cheap and borla makes it sound like a frickin ferrari.

lol when i think of a mustang i think of american muscle and flowmasters, although they are cheaper they will give it a meaner deeper sound. i dont think borla will give it a ferrari sound and if it did who the hell would want that on their pony?

Haha I didn't mean exactly like a ferrari. Just gives is an exotic sound instead of deep, mean rumble. And I've always thought the flowmasters sounded cheap and generic. They seem better suited for a pickup imo.
