Need help with tire sizes

I am currently looking at a set of rims for my 02 gt and want to keep the same tire diameter as my stock tires. I have 17s n want 18s. The rims I want for the front are 18\8.5 and the rear are 18\9.5. Can some one help me out or let me know what a good size would be for low profiles?

I wouldn't do this.

This guy has bad info. That tire has 27.3" diameter compared to the stock 25.7" which will throw your speedo way off.. Check out tire rack you can see diameters

235 might be a stretch on a 8.5 wheel and surely would be a stretch on a 9.5 wheel and would look goofy. Also putting a skinnier tire than stock on a mustang is gay.

245/40/18 on front and 275/35/18 for the rear will be spot on matching the wheel width you selected and matching factory tire diameter keeping the speedo correct if you don't have a tuner to compensate

Wrong again. Don't do that either.

The fronts are much taller than stock but the backs would be close.

You must get a close match to the oem diameter or else your speedo will be off unless you have a tuner to adjust it. Not too mention if you go to big you will rub.

stock diameter is 25.7". Try to stay with in 1/4" of that

Re: Need help with tire sizes

18x8.5 run a 265/35/18 or a 275/35/18

18x9.5 run a 295/35/18

This would work but tire rack suggests a 10.5" wide wheel for a 295 tire but gives a range of 10"-11" and the 295/35/18 is about .4" taller than the stockers.

275 or 285 35 is better as far as staying close to stock diameter keeping your speedo accurate.
