Clutch squeaking

I had a Clutch put in about 2500 miles ago and now when I have my car in neutral and my foot off the clutch I get a squeaking sound until I push down on the clutch peddle until I start to feel pressure then it stops until I let off the clutch... Does anyone know what this is caused from? And if so how do I fix it?

Thowout bearing or pilot bearing not installed properly or it was a cheapie. Only fix is to drop tranny and replace

Re: Clutch squeaking

yea throw out bearing, I had one go bad in my car after a clutch install in like 2 days.... its a cheap part but you have to take the trans out to replace it ... who ever did the clutch job should have replaced it... probably didnt... even if they did they probably wont warranty it for "wear and tear' which is BS...

you could manually adjust the tension on the clutch cable a couple clicks to stop it at least for a while. crawl under the dash on the drivers side, push in the clutch with your left hand and when on the floor grab the white clutch quadrant on the right (above the gas petal) and hold it against the motion it will try to go in as you slowly ease out the clutch. You will hear a click. Do a couple clicks and drive it. To make sure you didn't take up to much slack you should be able to drive at 45mph or so hold the gas steady and ease in the clutch petal if the rpms jump after about .5 inches your good if before its to tight. to un-adjust simply pull up on the bottom of the clutch petal.

I have had poor luck with every throw our bearing but motorcraft. All the other ones seem to fail quite quickly. Get a motorcraft one when you replace it.
