Gas peddle or throttle sticking

Can anyone tell me what would cause my throttle or gas peddle to stick? When I'm driving it's fine but from a dead stop taking off I have to apply more pressure to the peddle than I should to get the peddle to give but once it gives it's fine until I take my foot all the way off the peddle..

You might to check in the throttle body. Some times the carbon builds up enough to make that happen so I have heard anyway.

Check and make sure you have the throttle adjusting screw set to where it needs to be, like with just a little tenstion on the throttle. My screw was turned almost out and it would do the same thing.

Other than that spray some lube on the linkage and hope for the best.

Clean the throttle body with brake fluid cleaner and that should work

Nooooooooi don't ... Your throttle body has a coating on it to keep it from corroding. Brake fluid will take that coating right off,so will carb cleaner. Use seafoam to clean intake components. And your throttle body isn't drive by wire it is computer controled. If the tb is brand new that throttle screw MIGHT be out too much but if you have a tuner that will cure it with no tools

You could try carburetor cleaner to clean the throttle plate inside the throttle body

Re: Gas peddle or throttle sticking

if all that fails it could just be the cable itself, but its probably something to do with the throttle body

what year is it? anything older than 04 is fly by wire. and do not use carb or brake cleaner on it.. not to mention the "protective coating" and if you've got a stock intake.. ie the plastic one.. you could run the risk of cracking it because it has a similar effect as nitrous..

Any older than an 04 is is driven by cables not fly by wire they put that stupid crap in 05 and newer and I heard seafoam if not done properly will cause serious issues so better to take the throttle body off and use a product cal CRC throttle body cleaner yes amazing a product designed just for that. If you clean it lube the cable with good old PB blaster and I agree with checking the throttle adjusting screws just to make sure that is if it's an 04 or older.

well, pull it off! check to see where it is sticking at! get out and figure it out.. hell i took sandpaper to my v6 t-body, and sanded it down for better airflow, then coated it w/ WD-40, and NEVER had a problem.

I started another thread asking people what their favoritte t-bodies are, and one guy said that his BBK did the exact same thing that you are describing.
